Having worked various construction jobs over my many years I have used ladders of many types and sizes but I did hear and then looked it up for my own validity that MOST deaths that occur from ladder falls are from ladders UNDER 10 feet or less. Most falls occur from under 4 feet. seems crazy but it is true

I got knocked off an 8 foot ladder 6 years ago. I was on the top with it leaning against a tree. Broke a rib. My doctor later told me that he fell off a 16 foot ladder and didn't get hurt. Then, he said that he was only on the first step.

Just got done hanging the rest of the Christmas lights outside using six foot step latter. If I had a dollar for every time I thought of this post...

I always remind myself of that when I stand on top of a 12 ft ladder with nothing but ceiling grid hangers to hold on to. I prefer to keep the acoustic tiles around me intact if i can. The tiles give me that false sense of security if i were to fall. You get used to it.
