What if he is actually right and the things he has been saying are true? All we know is what we want to believe, and just because we believe something doesn't make it fact.

I'm not sure what you mean. Yes Trump is generally correct when he talks about the problems this Country is facing (just like every candidate by the way). We are getting embarrassed by China, Russia doesn't respect us, our health care system is a mess, there is an illegal immigration problem...

The problem with Trump isn't identifying problems. It's that he's a child and his solutions have been to build a wall and make great deals. Whenever he gets specific there are huge holes in his plans, which he blows off with a "trust me it will work".

A vote for Trump is a tremendous leap of faith even before you consider the impact his childish behavior will have on the people he needs to work with. That is a fact.

The thing that bothers me about this analysis is, all his campaign bluster is coming true.

When he announced he was running, everyone thought he had no chance.

Trump said he'd be a winner, everyone said, "ha-ha, okay."

Then he started topping the polls. Everyone thought the polls were wrong.

Every time Trump says something outrageous, the analysts announce "That's it. He's done." Instead, his poll numbers go even higher.

Now he's winning primaries. Jeb Bush with his giant war chest couldn't even stay in the race long enough to get to his home state. Rubio is going to get slaughtered in his home state, and Cruz has reached his high-water mark now that Texas is in the rear-view mirror.

Everything this guy said he'd do, he's doing.

Now people say he'll get destroyed by Hillary in the general election.

Who's right and who's wrong? So far, Trump has been right, and everybody else has been wrong.

I think you completely understood the question. There are many that say he is wrong(I'm not saying they are wrong); but what if all the issues he is bringing up are true?

The sentence in bold is purely your opinion based on what you believe. Where is the data that supports your opinion that makes it fact?

What you wrote has nothing to do with his lack of detail in his plans as president, which is what the previous poster was referring to.

This is framed perfectly for a "debate" about Trump. Why even pretend there will be actual substance?

But yet Trad actually tried to address the original post as it was intended. I never asked whether Trump's plans are viable(if he has plans).

I'm not sure i totally agree with your assessment. The question is not whether he is right or wrong, hence a debate. It was a statement of what if he is right? How would everyone react if everything he has been saying is true?

Wait a minute.... I agreed all the issues he is bringing up are true. The guy doesn't have answers to how these issues should be fixed. He tries, but when someone points out a flaw he either tells you to trust him or insults the question.

What would happen if I went to my boss and demanded a promotion because I have figured out we are losing customers. Then my plan to get them back was to come up with a great plan. Is this how the world works and I just haven't figured it out yet?

If he's not willing to give specifics - you just have to trust him which is a leap of faith. This is a fact and is true of any candidate to varying degrees. My opinion is he can't be trusted, but that's a different discussion.

Who else, other than Bernie, has actually put forth any plans? Most candidates don't give specifics during the campaign because those plans usually get ripped to shreds by their opponents and the media. Trump at least put forth a health plan...and the wall.

Yeah, that actually IS how the world works. Years ago, I worked for a company that sold customized order-fulfillment software and hardware systems. Every installation was different based on customer needs. The sales guys would routinely promise that the software could do this or that or the other thing -- just trust us. Meanwhile, the programmers would say, "But, it can't do that."

I didn't respond to your post accurately, when I said you understood the question; that was a response that you answered it. I should have stated that more clearly.

As for the opinion part, we could all go on forever about whether any of his plans would even work. Whether or not he is a good person, does anything he has to say have merit, as well as the plans that he has never explained yet. I didn't really want to get into that debate as it has been hashed over time and time again.

I'm not attempting to say how anyone should vote. That is a personal choice.

For a guy that has absolutely no hope of winning, you people sure seem to be obsessed with him. hmmm.....

I clearly just don't understand the premise of the OP. What issues are people saying Trump is wrong about? There are thousands of reasons to hate Trump, but I never thought a misidentification of the issues was one of them.

Presidential candidates operate at such a high level it's almost impossible to be wrong.

Maybe I should have added a bit more clarity to the OP. There are many that disagree with his stance on these items and say his stance is wrong. What if he isn't?
Illegal Immigration
ACA
Trade Deals
Tax Reform
Restrict Muslims Immigrants/refugees

I actually agree with his stance on the issues you listed. Unfortunately he is crude, abrasive, and childish. I would not want him representing the United States.

What opinions does he have that can be defined as either "right" or "wrong"? Is illegal immigration a problem? Of course it is. But this "opinion" is no different from any other candidate. He doesn't offer any kind of genuine solution -- he just is more willing to talk about how pissed-off he is that most statement, which appeals to people's emotions.

The true question is, does he have the ability to define solid solutions and work with others to enact legislation that would implement those solutions. The answer to that seems to be a pretty clear "No." And while most politicians can be caught spinning the truth, Trump doesn't really even seem to care about the truth. He makes "facts" up on the fly, creating an alternate reality that is immune to fact-checking. Facts are 100% opposite of what he said? No problem, just shout the lie louder and call the truth-teller an idiot.Combined with the fact that, as others have pointed out, he is a childish boor who will represent us badly on the national stage and you have a man who any rational person would be horrified to consider as our President.

Unfortunately about 15% to 20% of our country consists of people who would prefer somebody who speaks loudly and brashly about things of which he knows absolutely nothing. And to those people Trump seems very appealing. Let's hope the other 80% do their job and keep him out of the White House.

I would say "No offense, but if you support Trump you are simply being foolish" but, frankly, I really don't care if Trump supporters are offended by this simple truth. They are, themselves, quite offense, too.

Apparently you don't realize that you can replace "Trump" with "Hillary" in most of your statements and it would still apply. You can also add race baiting, Benghazi, and email scandal to Hillary's glowing list of accomplishments.

Just because one sucks doesn't elevate the other in my mind. Trump is basically a blank canvas for his supporters to project whatever beliefs they have on him. Just in the last couple days, he's played both sides of his most popular positions. All the sudden that he's become inevitable as the nominee, he's Mr. Flexible. CPAC is out the window, he's taken the Republican brand as long as it suited his needs and now the chameleon will emerge for the general election. He's playing his supporters like a fiddle.

A huge leap of faith but we already know the results of a Rubio/Cruz/Clinton win and that outcome (that we have lived the past 20 years) isn't desirable.

I find Trump scary then I see Cruz again, who claims to want to do away with the IRS and the EPA.

Programmers suck and lack any sort of business sense and imagination.

You might not like the guy personally, but his whole campaign is about taking on issues that the past generation of politicians have created that have negatively impacted the middle class. Trade agreements that shipped jobs overseas has decimated factory positions, causing poverty for the non-skilled. Illegal immigrants have negatively-affected skilled trades. Visa programs have depressed wages in white collar positions. Obamacare placed a surcharge on health insurance for those that don't have insurance subsidized.

The list goes on, and I don't think it should surprise anybody that the negatively-affected voters don't care about the PC bullshit and attacks on the guy - they just want all of these policies from which they see no benefit, only harm, to end.
