A More Physical Nunge Returns to the Court

Some guys gain explosion through the training, even as they gain weight. I became much quicker as I got stronger (and heavier) in college.

Chances are he'll get switched or cross-matched at some point. Hopefully his physical maturation and training gave him better tools to manage this circumstance.

We can hope but I haven't heard anyone say that Nunge is quicker or faster, just that he's bigger and stronger. I think most of us can agree the less time Nunge is spent defending the 3, the better. Fair?

Of course. If he's matched on a 3 as consistently as he was in his first year minutes, well, my TV won't like me.

I'm going to try to make the men's and women's games at the end of the week.

I’m guessing he’s still probably a better perimeter defender than Garza, so if teams have the option to switch onto one of the two, I bet it’s Luka

The reason Fran used Nunge at 3 his freshman year was that there was no one else, and he thought that was the best option he had. Nunge is definitely quicker than Luka, but it might be a toss up between Luka and me (and I'm over 60):)

I believe so much will depend on Nunge's playing demeanor. He always seems a bit reserved. He needs some of Aaron White's nastiness.
Hopefully this will be another side effect of sitting and watching for a year. He should be raring to go.....
