Affluenza kid and his mom are on the run...

Well, I didn't really see it coming. He basically got off free and clear. He only had to report to a probation officer once a week. I saw a lot of coverage on this last night and the speculation is they are out of the country. He had money and he wasn't going to prison. Stupid if his mom is involved in this. But, I am guessing she isn't the best mom to begin with.

Ha! Before reading the story I guessed that he probably stopped going to probation because he would flunk the whiz quiz, but the beer pong video is close enough.

Affluenza boy has been detained in Mexico. Authorities are seeking extradition.

I believe the article is wrong. I read on CNN this morning that since he was placed on juvenile probation and was not charged as an adult, that he'll only face 120 days in prison unless they can somehow get him back into adult court.

"The district attorney explained the dilemma she faces at a news conference Tuesday:

  • Ethan Couch was sentenced as a juvenile and violated his probation as ordered by juvenile court system.
  • Under Texas law, Couch, now 18, would be punished for his violation in the juvenile system.
  • The maximum sentence that a juvenile judge can dish out for a violation of his juvenile probation is imprisonment in a juvenile facility until Couch turns 19, which is April 11, 2016.
  • The DA wants to transfer Couch's sentence to adult court. But since this violation happened in the juvenile system, Couch effectively would start with a clean slate in the adult probation system. That is, the adult court judge could not punish Couch for violations he committed as a juvenile.
  • At the time a judge reassesses Couch's probation in the adult system, he has the power to put Couch in adult jail for a maximum of 120 days. "
That's a bit from the article. Here's a link to the full one.

From the article "The 'affluenza' nickname for the 18-year-old came from a psychologist who said during Couch's trial he was so wealthy and spoiled he could not tell the difference between right and wrong."

WTF? Have we degraded that far that the Social Justice Warriors have resorted to this?

Telling "the difference between right and wrong" doesn't come from wealth or lack of wealth. It comes from values and ethics instilled by parents etc.
Pathetic society we are living in. Yay. Liberalism and their agenda of PC and labels.

What's pathetic is your twisted wingnut attempt to somehow blame this spoiled brat's affliction on liberalism and their "agenda."

Yeah, his defense lawyer is the one who sold that crap sandwich. As usual, the lawyers are the real criminals.

The mom is in bigger trouble for aiding the son's flight versus the trouble the kid is in.

I suppose it's pointless to point out to you that this happened in Texas. Not exactly a bastion of liberalism and PC justice run amok.

The mom is what wouldja threads used to be all about here. There have been good and bad pictures over the last two years on her. I don't know if she lost weight or gained weight, but in some of the stock footage they show of them entering a courthouse mom looks really good.
Given that she is probably a raging b@@@@ and suburban housewife crazy it's a classic wouldja.

If you idiots don't believe that agenda of "he's wealthy and spoiled so he doesn't know right from wrong" isn't a liberal pushing it? Well, then no none can help you

That is the lefts play book. Attack the "rich" as the ills of all of society.

Weird how you guys refuse to condemn that crazy leftist comment. Telling

You're obviously an individual of limited intellectual acumen.
Point out all the times in which "liberals" have demonstrated support for this unscientific and unsubstantiated diagnosis.

Yeah, a rich kid's parents buying an expensive lawyer to get him off is exactly the liberal agenda. Seriously, only a dyed in the wool wingnut could come up with this crap. If you step in a puddle is it Obama's fault?

Well, I've come to expect nothing but unintelligent posts from icu81222. I really have to marvel at his consistent ability to produce such drivel.

Nah, like I said they kept going with stock footage. She's not doing so good these days, but I bet the early trial shots for her kid were the ones where she looked pretty good.
But, as a classic wouldja?

Wealthy people become liberals?

Defend.
Gates , Buffet. They make so much money that they start to feel guilty. Therefore they start to give money back. And they feel that it is OK to increase taxes as they have already made their fortunes

You've just named 2 of the most generous people in the world. If all wealthy people were as beneficent as Gates especially, the world would be a better place.
