All 4 teams with a bye in the CFP lost

Yeah, get rid of byes. Robbing all those teams of a home playoff game also. The neutral site bullshit needs to change as well. The only game that should be at a neutral site is the championship game. Everything else is at the higher seeded teams field. Fvck the bowls.
That’ll never ever fly. Sixteen teams with the first round on home fields but the bowls get the games after that.

Give it time. The bowls have been losing their luster for decades. The playoffs will be the dagger. The schools/conferences run the show and they know that. How long till the big boys get together and make demands of more home playoff games?

Eight teams is enough.

It really isn't.
For all the love we have across sports of the underdog and the Cinderella story, there’s nobody more hated in college football than a non-blue blood trying to raise profile. 12 or more team playoffs over time will allow for changes in recruiting patterns and will lead to more parity in the sport. I thought this was a huge win this season. There were easily 20-25 teams in real discussion at various points about being in the playoffs.

Here’s my full proposal, staying at 12 teams. I’m fine with the selection criteria. P4 champs should always get in. I like the best non-P4. ND needs a path (but let’s join a freaking conference please). Let that be qualifying criteria. Then seed by the committee or committee plus something. First two rounds played on campus. Eliminate conference championship games, potentially, to start earlier.

So what if the higher seed lost? I'd only GAS if my team was one of them.

I would make only one simple change....
*Stay with 12 teams, with the four byes going to the four highrlest seeded conference champions - but still seed 1-12, even though some higher seeds don't get a bye. Too bad, should have won your conference.
* First round games between 5-12 are hosted by higher seed (like now)
*2nd round matching are based on seedings, at neutral sites.

So this year first round games would have been the same, but 2nd round likely would have had ASU as 7, Boise as 8...so 3nd round match ups would have all been different.

It’s gonna be 16 teams guys, just accept it. When it was 4 me and many others knew it would expand to 8 or more. Now we have 12, 16 will be next.

16 teams 5 years ago would have saved the PAC-12 conference because all conference champions get an automatic bid and there are enough at large bids to be given to any other team that needs to be there as well.

Now, you need to go to 16 because the top 4 seeds really got screwed by not getting to host a game. Honestly, the first round was great and they need more on campus playoff games. But that's unlikely to happen but at least you can get more 1st round games. So most of them will always be blowouts. BFD. At least the games are settled on the field and not in the television studios.

Bowls were far more entertaining games than CFP games were except for 1.

By a fair margin, too.

32 teams. All champs of every conference. Then at larges, and then the 32nd slot goes to the team with the worst record in the country.

I’m fine with 16 teams, too. Maybe not having a bye is actually best. I still think the first two rounds should be on campus. It’s a LOT to ask fans to travel that much after asking them to make donations for seats and asking them to pay fund collectives for NIL and to subscribe to 17 streaming services.

16 teams - major conf champs get auto bid, but seeded straight, no byes and no guaranteed home games. First two rounds played on campus. Semis and finals neutral or bowl sites.

Yep. Let's stop the cognitive dissonance of amateur college sports. That ended with the portal and NIL a couple of years ago. I don't like it, but will admit I'm a kinda olde and will learn to embrace it.

Start with a sweet 16. No byes, first game at home, then wiggle the bowls on on rotation.
