This is just a macro of Fran and terrible everything.
Just out of curiosity why are you such a "Fran fan"....I’m a Fran fan and that was probably the worst coached team I’ve seen under him. I’ve seen better defensive fundamentals in rec ball. Our whole offense was throwing up 3 balls. Freeman never posted up and looked like he would rather be getting circumcised than playing b ball. Harding made repeatedly stupid turnovers. And not fouling at the end of regulation!
Thank God for Dix, and Sandfort finally pulling his head out of his arse and playing hero ball, but this game is not a recipe for winning.
Rhyming is an easy way to remember.Just out of curiosity why are you such a "Fran fan"....
He consistently wins more than he loses, usually makes the NCAA tournament, produces great individual players (Garza, Murray’s etc), plays an exciting style of basketball and I respect him as a person and leader of young men. He represents the university well.Just out of curiosity why are you such a "Fran fan"....

Harding did foul. It just wasn’t called.
.The execution of the foul was poor. You need to reach in hard at the low point of a dribble. Even if the ball handler tries to act like he's shooting, if he can't bring his hands up, the official is never going to award a shot motion over a pass motion with that much time left.
Part of me thinks we should've intentionally fouled their big up 4 as well before the Williams guy made his first 3 to cut it to 1.
He consistently wins more than he loses...usually makes the NCAA Tournament
This message board has become more toxic than Twitter/X.Social media poison ……even after an exciting win we find reason to complain. What causes this ….is it something in the water ? Or is it just that people feel the need to complain even after a win. The team really doesn’t deserve fans like this. Maybe it’s just weak minded negative people.
you think that was a well played game? Docterman even commented on the homer calls we were getting and I agree. That double dribble might be the worst no call of the college basketball season thus far.Social media poison ……even after an exciting win we find reason to complain. You can thank both Frank Garza and Kenyon Murry's efforts for those boys.He consistently wins more than he loses, usually makes the NCAA tournament, produces great individual players (Garza, Murray’s etc), plays an exciting style of basketball and I respect him as a person and leader of young men. He represents the university well.
And always has, for then entirety of Fran's tenure. I'd argue the players don't deserve a coach like him. It’s people seeing that game for what it was, fools gold. Iowa will be fine moving forward if sandfort continues to drop 30 in the 2nd half every night to mask the other god awful issues the team has.
I stopped watching Iowa bb two years ago. From reading the posts here I feel I made the right decision. There was a game tonight?
And you can thank Fran for recruiting them. I'm sure you believe Fran didn't help with their development at all, but you'd be wrong. You can thank both Frank Garza and Kenyon Murry's efforts for those boys.
I guess you haven't figured out yet that its mostly the whiners who post in these forums. Anyone who attempts to show some positivity is immediately ridiculed and shouted down.I stopped watching Iowa bb two years ago. From reading the posts here I feel I made the right decision.
Didn’t you start a thread last game about how you were done with Fran?
I didn’t see anything in that post that commented or implied anything about ‘well played’you think that was a well played game? Docterman even commented on the homer calls we were getting and I agree. That double dribble might be the worst no call of the college basketball season thus far.
You won’t find too many former players (or current ones for that matter) who would agree with that statement.I'd argue the players don't deserve a coach like him.
Please, making arguments like this is asinine. You can thank both Frank Garza and Kenyon Murry's efforts for those boys.

He's consistently beaten a lot of Kenpom 250+ teams over the course of 15 years. That's what his body of work really all boils down to.
Read the game threads. When Iowa is winning, one half is a half-page. When they are losing, there is about 3 pages for each missed shot/rebound.Social media poison ……even after an exciting win we find reason to complain. The double-dribble was on a quick change of possession and the refs were turning to run the other direction. One ref was directly behind Payton. its understandable to see how they could have missed it. Other than that, I really didn't see a lot of calls that benefitted Iowa to the point of blowing a 15-point lead in 10 minutes. FT shooting is the problem if Neb wants to complain about something.you think that was a well played game? Docterman even commented on the homer calls we were getting and I agree. That double dribble might be the worst no call of the college basketball season thus far.
Consider the source. Please, making arguments like this is asinine.
Fran has also won just 2 NCAA games in the past 7 years and counting (I didn't count the COVID year), which is not all that great, either. As I type this, there's a lot of work to do if this season isn't going to make that 2 wins in 8 years. Beating Nebraska last night is a start. He would have made the tourney 8 of the last 11 years if there was a tourney in 2020.
That’s just not bad.
And? I can still suppport the team and hope they have a good season. I also stated I hope we go on a run and both parties part ways at end of year. I also thanked and respected him in the OP. 😆Didn’t you start a thread last game about how you were done with Fran?
That was a quick 180.
It is sad how far our fans expectations have fallen. They act like we are lucky to be average. I hope Beth has higher ambitions for the program."Consistently wins more than he loses":

Helps when shooter takes 4 to 5 steps before launching. The execution of the foul was poor. You need to reach in hard at the low point of a dribble.
