I get what you're saying about no cinderellas and no big ten teams, but I think there's a few great teams left. Virginia, Villanova, Kansas, UNC, and Oregon have all been impressive. I'm actually kind of excited to see all these teams duke it out in the elite eight.Yeah, snoozer other than Gonzaga Syracuse.
Can't remember a less interesting field at the 8 point.
No great teams, no great players,no Cinderellas, no big ten teams, just nothing interesting about any of it.
I'm pretty much checked out.
Iowa St definitely looked like they didn't belong there. Virginia ran a layup line on them all day

Duke, Kentucky, Wisconsin and Arizona last year were all better than any team this year
Disagree... Nova, UNC, Virginia, Kansas and OU could all compete at that level. Arizona wasn't as good as the other 3.Duke, Kentucky, Wisconsin and Arizona last year were all better than any team this year
Talent wise yes Kentucky was great. But they didn't have the chemistry of a great team and ran through a god awful SEC.

They didn't, they beat Iona and Arkansas little rock to get there.

Absolutely not.
UK beat Kansas 72 to 40 last season and Kansas is basically the same players.
They also spanked UNC easily and they are almost entirely the same players too.
That's the issue. People underestimate what a full year of the same players can do for chemistry purposeses. There's a reason that most of the teams left are senior laden.
Buddy Hield's not a great player? He has me fooled.Yeah, snoozer other than Gonzaga Syracuse.

First two rounds were pretty good but Sweet sixteen and elite eight so far have been pretty lame. I think Nova/ KU may go down to the last possession though.Yeah I wouldn't argue with that I guess. Still, most boring tournoment I can remember in a long time.
Anyone who thinks ISU didnt belong in Sweet 16 either doesnt know basketball or refuses to take off the black and gold goggles.
They earned the #4 seed, so they earned the right to play a lesser team in 1st round. If Iowa doesn't lose 6/8 (or whatever it was), they too could have played a lower seeded team, and avoid a 2 seed in 2nd round.
Purdue lost. The mighty Big 10 couldnt beat a lowly team from the Sun Belt. How is that ISUs fault? Besides, ISU beat Little Rock and Iona soundly. Its not like they squeaked by them in OT on an airball and a pushoff that wasnt called.
Virginia is alot better than ISU. No question. There are no excuses about referees here. ISU didnt play very well primarily because of UVA. At the same time, ISU came back and got within 7 or so late.
ISU was definitely one of the best 16 teams in the country. Played witb a lot of consistency all year.
Last thought. I imagine your tune would be ALOT different if Iowa made the Sweet 16 under similar circumstances. We will never know because Iowa tanked the last month of the season. Losing to Penn State on road, Wisky and IU at home, and especially in BTT etc. earned Iowa that lower seed, and a date with a 2 seed. To top it all off, Iowa should have played in DSM....except for their late season tank job.
Iowa State tied for 5th place with Baylor and was the only Big 12 team that got a win from both Kansas and Oklahoma during the regular season. The only reason Baylor is on the 5th line is alphabetical order as they were swept by both Kansas and Baylor and had one less win that Iowa State. I know this is how they do it because you don't always get the same seed in the conference tournament as what shows on the team rankings at the conference web site.Sure. ISU is one of the 16 best teams in the country. Yet still only the 6th 'best' out of the 10 teams in the B12.

Perhaps Hawk fans on this board should stop starting threads about ISU - I counted 4 on the 1st page alone.
Back to my original point, if Hawk fans didnt start threads regarding ISU, then we wouldn't respond.
You are correct in one respect. ISUs season is over, but it lasted a week longer than Iowa's did. A week of great PR and praise from the national media. Contrary to what you busters think, ISU will not take a significant dip next year and beyond.
