Well, her team WON the national tournament.....and she played very well. Hard to argue.....

Never liked this ridiculous standard for MOP awards that they have to go to a player on the winning team. The MOP often DOESN’T play for the winning team, as in this case.

Don’t know who decides on this award, but if Reese’s antics occurred before it was decided and they were going to give it to her, it would have been cool to see them award it to Caitlin for taking the high road and not retaliating against Reese’s BS (and also because she actually was the MOP based on her play).

Actually, I almost wonder if it wasn't the reverse. Meaning...there’s just no way that CC isn't the tournament’s MOP given her performance. However, given just how salty things were getting out there in the aftermath of the game, I'm wondering if the tournament officials didn't want to risk an even more unseemly display from the LSU players if they had brought CC back onto center stage to get that award. Can you imagine the reaction that would have triggered from Mulkey, Morris and the Black Queen!?!

It has nothing to do with who won “the national tournament” either...it has to do with who had the best two games in Dallas, I believe. And it is a SUBJECTIVE based award...a “feel good” award, if you wish...I maynot agree with who won (but I might, too) but I certainly understand why she was given the award.
Seems to me that all the “best ( women’s) players awards” for the nation, were given to the right player, though.

You can put Caitlin's numbers up against Reese and there is no comparison. Starting with the first games or just the final two. NO COMPARISON!!! Except the winning team. But that seemed like 8 vs 5
