When the Big 10 expanded I actually expected a little smaller conference tournament. 15 seems like an awkward number. It seems equally awkward to have Fran talking about it with the team near the bottom of the conference. He becomes even more irrelevant to the future of the program making statements like that.
Never in my life have I wanted Iowa to lose a game, and I cannot foresee a time when I ever will.
As far as I can determine with the BTT seed calculator, we have to win any one of our last 3 games to make the BTT. Win any of Northwestern, Nebraska, or Michigan State and we are in.

Ok. If we are talking about the Ivy League bringing only four teams to their conference tournament when they have a perfect 8 team three day tournament set up, it’s one thing. Complaining about finishing 16th place and getting left out of a conference tourney is another.
Recruit better, Coach better and win more games, His participation trophy weak thinking is just another reason He is the highest paid shrinkage Coach in NCAA History . Guy has had a 40 Year career defined by failure.
I sat behind the bench last year in the tournament they played in San Diego. He screamed the F word. Good to know Fran has a little sarcasm in him.

In 40 Years He has no sweet 16s and most of His wins are against garbage at Siena and directional Schools OOC , He is a .500 Coach in Conference . Spot on 👍 Fran complaining about the possibility of not making the conference tournament comes across as mentally weak. That comes across in the way his teams play as well. Many people find realism hard to embrace but you have to see it to move forward and make positive changes.
Let's hope so. After NCAA tourney treats like losing to Oregon and Richmond he's managed to put together a roster that resembles LIckliiters last squad with the fast play button pushed. Seems a fitting end.
We can expect a lot of fireworks/transfers this spring. I'd rather have a young/hungry guy doing triage than a fat cat old man. Fran playing his two boys ahead of the Murray Brothers was dishonest.
Lickliter had more talented squads than this. The teams with Justin Johnson, Jeff Peterson, Cyrus Tate, Tony Freeman, etc…would run these guys off the floor

I think he meant incense as in seeing all hope go up in smoke
He's recently had a couple tournament teams and was smart enough to hire a defensive asst. coach that improved their team. His feet were put to the fire by his AD and he made positive changes at probably the worst coaching position in the league. Not saying he is the best candidate but would probably do a good job at Iowa.
