We are still at the point where people use us as a barometer of a bad loss.....sad. Heard one today take it a step further and say "If you want to get into the Final 4 with 2 losses, you do not lose to Iowa AT ALL".....didn't even mention, do not get beat by 31....losing to Iowa no matter by how much was inexcusable.

That's more on the ignorance of the person who said that, than it is Iowa's or Ferentz's fault.........just sayin.

Said many posters on this board (but perhaps not you):

"I hate all those stupid national CF "experts", especially those idiots on ESPN!"

And ,,,,

"I am pissed about something someone said at ESPN! Why don't we get national respect?"

Don't worry, there's a light at the end of the tunnel. Oh wait, it's just a light shining through the ears of our next head coach in waiting.

Carry on national pundits. Nothing is going to change here for the next 20 years.

Whomever said that is an idiot considering Clemson lost to a 4-8 Syracuse team.

So you don't think they know we lost 5 this year which is pretty much what the program has averaged the last 19 seasons? Our reputation is what our record says it is.....mediocre
They struggle with calling us Iowa State from Des Moines, so yeah I wouldn't put it past them to not know what our record was........

Except for that national title season.....

I don't think OSU deserved to be in there. But there is a lot of ignorance when it comes to 'experts' on tv. Especially when talking about SEC talking heads.

The new practice facility did not get completed until late 2014, too late to really impact recruiting. So we now have had it in place for 2 years. It will take time to pay off.

BTW, Iowa has a long way to go on dorms vs lots of other schools. My daughter was recruited by lots of top schools, Washington, Michigan, Ohio State, Virginia and Stanford. Iowa offered as well, in terms of the academic center for college athletes, Iowa’s is bare bones compared to most others. Surprisingly, Stanford had no special center for athletic academics, their support for all students is insane.

Do kids look at those things when being recruited? Absolutely. Give Ferentz some time to work with his new tools.

Our practice facility is nothing special already! That not knocking Iowa, unfortunately it's just the way things are today.

Everyone has good facilities. Iowa just now caught up to the others. Recruit after recruit says that everyone has good facilities and they don’t really use that when trying to figure out where to go.

Especially our buddy who looks like a cross between Mr. Beaker and Dumbo the elephant.......

Iowa is in the upper third in terms of quality in the Big10. Below ours are MN (for now), Purdue, MN, Indiana, Illinois, Rutgers and Maryland. While NW playing field is horrible, their new practice facility is breathtaking. MSU is about on par with Iowa. Wisconsin, Ohio State and Michigan have taken it up a notch. I have no idea what cards PSU is playing with, but the town is fantastic for the college town atmosphere, very Norman Rockwell like.

Almost 20 years with Kirk and 5 Top 10 finishes! Not bad, my friends, not bad at all!! 1 out of every 4 years! Thanks for this and thanks for doing it the right way Coach!
