The same conference I went to in Cleveland this past year is in St. Louis in March 2025 and I’m going. Staying right at the Arch.

Could this be the first meeting of FAU and @St. Louis Hawk? I like steak and booze, BTW. And I noticed a plethora of casinos in the gateway to the west. Promising trip!

I didn't think Imo's was nearly as bad as people here insist. St. Louis Hawk recommended a pretty good oyster bar

It’s been 8-9 years, but Bogart’s Smokehouse was awesome. I enjoyed the museum/displays at the bottom of the Arch more than the Arch itself.

I was just in St Louis last month for work and the locals took us out for Chinese food at a place called Cate Zone. I think it was the best Chinese food I've ever had. I believe there are 2 locations.

If you like seafood/Cajon food with live music and the towny bar feel, the No-Pic and I always enjoy the Broadway Oyster Bar. Its right down there where you are staying.

Ballpark Village has lots of bars and resteraunts. Salt & Smoke is a great BBQ place there. It’s across the street from Busch Stadium. If you’re going to be there in March, it will be hopping with NCAA basketball tournament time going on. We spent an afternoon of day drinking there in March. Watched one of the Iowa Women’s games there and had a great time.

Best Italian - Cafe Napoli high end; Anthonino’s Taverna - Mid range
Best surprisingly cool things to do - AB beer tour and Arch tour. AB knows how to hire tour guides and the beer pavilion at the end is solid - 2 free beers last I checked
Best casinos - Hollywood, Ameristar
St. Louis Aquarium
Best small concerts - Fox, The Muny, Pageant, The Hawthorn
Best for iMax and learning - Science Center
Best Golf - Gateway National or the Bluffs
Best steak - 801 Chop
Best dive - Cats Meow

Check with each place as Covid has screwed up hours and staffing.

Don’t leave anything in your cars in the city. Nothing.

St Louis-style pizza is abhorrent and disgusting. Even worse than QC-style. It’s bad enough that the people have to live by a gross river and be surrounded by Cardinals fans. It’s the ultimate insult.
