Amari Spievey's view

Just wait until the team is flagged for multiple off sides, false starts, late hits, blown assignments, and all of a sudden there will be the cries "this team has no discipline!" I'm always a little leery of anyone saying he/she wouldn't do the same thing to someone else. Kind of sounds like my son saying - you wouldn't punish my sister for that! All I do know that if a football team does not have discipline, you get the Raiders.

For the 400th ****ing time, you don't have to be an asshole and degrade people to instill discipline.

I honestly don't think you do, but trying to be optimistic today so....

Glad to hear it.
And just for the record, just where in my post did I claim you did have to be an asshole to instill discipline? I didn't - you assumed. So jumping all over me may have been a bit premature? I just said there will be those claims being made, and you can bet there will be. So take your misdirected frustration out on someone else. If you want to disagree with me saying you really never know if someone else is going to be treated in the same way for the same action, have at it. That's a pretty subjective statement with a lot of factors to always consider.

Yeah, you should have just ended on the last one. I'm sure your initial post was just an epiphany that had nothing to do with recent events in the program.

Of course it did - but what part of people will claim there is a lack of discipline when there are multiple penalties not understood? I understand you just want to argue and try to belittle anyone who does not see completely eye to eye with you, but actually try giving it a rest once in a while. Being angry with people who just may have a slightly different view on things must be exhausting! Also, stop assuming what every little word means and just take it for what is being said. But then again, there are talk show hosts that make a fortune doing just that!

I was criminal for sure.
this is intriguing. Natural, were people aware of your orientation? did you think your were treated differently because of it? wasn't there a don't ask/don't tell policy at one point? you don't strike me as the kind of guy that would want to keep it a secret anyway, which is why i'm interested in hearing how it went for you.

Coming out put an end to my service.

I have been thinking about this too in terms of Hooker and Stone. Fant probably wasn't that happy but he was a first rounder so no question he should leave but guys like Stone and Hooker might have been guys that would have stuck around if they felt better inside the football building.
Totally agree about being able to lift players up as well. It seemed that at some point in the program it just turned way too negative.
I don't necessarily disagree with this, but it is interesting that everything I've heard or read around James Daniels (clearly one of the more vocal players in this) was that he was leaning towards returning for his Senior year and KF was actually the person who convinced him to take the NFL opportunity.
