Curious, does anyone know AF’s new salary at Cal. Was told it is around 160k. No idea if that is true. What was he making here? I thought our Assistant coaches were making North of 250k. Not sure if that is true, but I’ve seen that number discussed on here. Can someone verify either?

He was making about 220K at Iowa.

Francis was making $218k at Iowa.

Francis was the 3rd assistant at Iowa, and has been for 9 years. His career growth was stagnating.

I don't know for a fact that he moves from the 3rd seat to the 2nd seat at Cal, but he was the second assistant hired.

I have to think this is a step up in his career.

I like how us fans want to replace assistants, but the moment one leaves, people wonder why he left and act like it is a bad thing.

With a 3x greater cost of living (conservative estimate) he better be making at least $500k or he will be taking a huge step back financially.

Hmmm Ellingson vs. Oglesby? If Fran can't find MVC players in state he has proven he will go out of state to get them. Dailey to Akron and whatever conference they play in as another stellar example of Fran missing by oh I don't know about two levels of where a kid should play vs. B1G.

If you don't know what conference Akron is in you aren't much of a BB fan.

Coaches need to move around, if for nothing else, to get a better network of references. He was young for the Iowa staff, even though he worked with McC the longest. He really needed some other experience on his resume. This was a good move for him.
