If you were at Hilton on Sunday you no doubt heard the background music that was on all night. I didn't know you could do that. It sounded like background music for some kind of a cheap video game.

If isu can’t draw over 10,000 for an Iowa meet they don’t deserve the home match verses Iowa. In 2023, if they don’t have 10,000 butts IN THE SEATS, the 2025 is in Iowa City, then in 2027 they can try again. If it isn’t 10,000 then repeat process. Iowa will put close to a sellout against isu.
I just hope they've stopped digging into the Marinellis' bank records and posting pics/mocking Tom Brands' son for having the nerve to be into theater. Sunday really sent some of them over the edge.
The whole vibe around ISU Athletics is gimmicks and stunts. It's a shit show from top down.
I fully expect the return to the "curtain " to try and limit Hawk fans taking over Hilton House next time.

ISU only needs a carnival barker and they could take their dog and pony show on the road.
USA Freestyle events plays music the entire time, if you have a neutral crowd it’s great. Not so much if you are trying for a home mat advantage

Yes, it was women's gymnastics. Iowa used to do it in the old Fieldhouse and even did it at Carver once or twice, except it was a men's gymnastics meet and wrestling at the same time. It was harder to pull off in Carver (used both of the end-to-end gyms in the Fieldhouse) and it got discontinued. I enjoyed it and kind of miss it. I went to Beauty and the Beast once in Ames, and it was OK too. VT kicked the Cyclones' butt in the wrestling meet. I don't remember how th gymnastics meet turned out, or who they were facing.
