What are your weekend plans, HBOT?

Unrelated to MLK weekend, and for you Brian: Mrs. A came in this morning and said "the best thing about being Catholic in this town is that when the evangelicals in our neighborhood try to get me to go to church with them and I tell them I'm Catholic, they instantly give up."

Do they walk up to her or knock on your door?

Nice. What type of steaks will you grill and how do you cook them?

Who is your favorite MMA fighter?

I'm a huge Fedor fan.

Stopped grilling them actually. Whatever the cut, I’ve been doing a reverse sear, putting them on a wire rack at 200 in a convection oven, them finishing them in a pan. Perfect every time. Will be doing ribeyes. I don’t really have a favorite fighter, it is more his jam. He is excited though about this card in particular.

3 degrees is the high her for the next 3 days. Supposed to have an indoor lacrosse and soccer game for kids tomorrow. Hopefully they cancel because there is no eat in the fieldhouse. The lacrosse game is at 7:30 in the morning. Brrr.... Oh well. Bundle up I guess. After those games are over, no obligations. Probably just sit close to the fire to thaw out, watch football and cook some good food. Oh, and drink some beers.

oh no, they're very nice neighborhood friends that we see on dog walks and the like.

the one 'walk up' guy i met here was the first truly southern gothic character i've ever met. He was a one time baptist preacher who now does pet funerals, but told me "I can do a healing service for you...but I'm gonna have to ask that you show up in a wheelchair..."

Youngest daughter’s choir concert tonight after work. May watch some of the game tonight if they can keep it competitive.

Tomorrow we’re heading to Rochester to watch my niece and nephew at a piano competition in the early afternoon. Later that evening I’ll be at my son’s BB game then hang out with my in-laws. Hopefully I can watch some FB at some point.

Sunday nothing planned so I’ll probably watch some FB and try to avoid going outside.

Also lots of THC and booze.

Smoking some over the top chili, having about a dozen or so people over like I do every Saturday to do some drinking, watch some football, play some ping pong, some pool - some poker maybe. Not leaving the house on Sun or Mon :)

You have a dozen or so people over every weekend? That sounds exhausting. Or are you still in your 20's with no kids?

Iowa vs Illinois wrestling at 6pm. May or may not watch the BB game (blech).
Tomorrow Chiefs vs HOU and then WAS vs DET. Steaks on the grill if it isn't too cold or windy.
Sunday more football.

Will start cleaning out office or at least start trying to organize it.

My weekend has some family events. It's bitter cold and snowy near Washington D.C.

Tonight, I'm going to my Aunt's (no pics) house for dinner.

Tomorrow I'm going to my parent's house for my sister's (no pics) birthday dinner. I'll hit the track at the gym and will power walk some laps. After the dinner, I'll be watching the Commanders playoff game.

Sunday, I'm working a little then Church on Sunday evening.

CSB.

How about you?
Same thing I always do Binky, try and take over the world.

Yeahhh, gonna need you to post some of that food porn on here please and thanks
Making some sandwiches on Monday

Counted 38 on a Sat in August, think that was my record.

Nope, low 40s with two kids - 14/10. Friends/neighbors bring their kids too to keep mine occupied :) It's not that bad honestly, guess I'm used to it now. My wife is amazing.

Watching the Hawkeye wrestlers win will pump me up enough to not care how bad the bb team looks. Gonna be some Iowa-type winter weather heading our way later this weekend though so the crazy drivers will make it safer to stay inside.

Pickleball with friends tonight at 7. Come home and watch the Hawks lose. Get up at 6am and take my 10yr old to the Chris Street memorial basketball tourney. Then head over to Chris Street's basketball coaches house to look at some memories he wants to show us.
Then watch some football.
Sunday probably just stay in and watch football. I was supposed to fly to Canada Monday morning but can't find my passport so I had to cancel. So it will just be a chill Sunday.

Where in Canada?

I've been to Montreal twice. It was bitter cold.

Do you deliver? Circa KC kickoff at 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Honestly I'm going to struggle to make it through Iowa game tonight. I'm usually a night owl, but I am still trying to build up strength.

2nd wind will have to kick in so I can break down Fran's lack of defense.

Related to MLK weekend, appropriate or not appropriate?: Per a buddy, today's holiday menu at the National Reconnaissance Office cafeteria features smothered pork chops, shrimp creole, pinto beans, southern green beans, fried okra, peach cobbler, and corn bread.

Never had a Catholic, evangelical, Baptist knock on my door.
Adventists .... different story.

I'll also be watching the Iowa @ UCLA debacle tonight. Beers required for that.
We're kid free tonight, so I'll be taking some edibles before the game and cracking a lovely hop water or two once I start getting cottonmouth. The desire to have booze NEVER hits harder than when I'm watching the Hawks **** up a game. So every single time I watch an Iowa event.
SURE COULD USE A DRINK RIGHT NOW

Youngest grandson's first birthday party is Saturday afternoon. Going out to dinner Saturday night to use up some gift cards. Driving back to Colorado on Sunday. Will lose my mind if Tik Tok is dark. What if I have to have conversations with my husband? I'm so behind on my work so I guess I could try to do that but the stuff I'm working on isn't really easy to do on my phone.
