Anthony Torres Blocking skills

Might wanna take that back, I said that before when he committed and got reamed for it

Very good blocker, a lot of pancake blocks. Not great speed but a good pair of hands.

I look at these tight ends and compare them to Noah's numbers. Not this year but probably next it would be awesome to get another 4.6 40 guy at TE. I'm pretty sure it is vital to what Brian is trying to do.

Torres worked with the TEs when he earned his 'ship. He'll work at TE initially at Iowa ... and move if the competition (or team needs) dictate otherwise. He really has pretty nice hands too. Hopefully he rehabs fully from his injury ... that way he can give TE his best shot. Iowa's TEs through the next few years appear REALLY athletic!

He was injured all of senior year so will need to see what impact that may or may not have on him. As noted, he will start at TE and then see how things go. Roster very deep at that position for coming year so coaches will have time to evaluate him.

In '18, much of our TE talent will be JRs and SOs (Fant [JR], Cook [JR], Hockenson [SO], and Beyer [SO]) ... thus, there really wouldn't be a push to play at TR FR TE. Consequently, the younger TEs will still have a comfortable window in which to learn and develop.

Great hands, good feet, decent speed. With his size I would be surprised if he’s isn’t a tackle by his sophomore year. Fits the Hawkeye mold.

Did I see correctly that 247 has a couple guys now picking him to go to Western Michigan?

Yes, he is no longer part of Iowa's recruiting class, as we reported in the Hawkeye Lounge this morning.

I just saw he is no longer committed? Was this his choice or Iowa's? Looks like he is joining Bussel at Western Mich, assuming by the downgrade in programs this was Iowa's choice in going a different direction and possibly because we are expecting other commitments or change in focus due to a few players leaving the program. By offering stoops at WR I would assume somebody is leaving in that position because it appears we would take both Locket and Stoops at WR and were originally only going to take 1 or even 0

Oh man!!! We have no TE's now!!! ;)

Why aren't we TE U yet? Clark, Moeaki, Chandler, Myers, Kreiger-Coble, Fiedorowicz, Kittle, Reisner, etc. I mean we put quality TE's into the NFL almost every single year.
