Logan Jones and Ethan Hurkett expected back; Wetjen could return as well

Wrong...the shitty performance of the QB can be directly attributed to an equally shitty OLine performance.
And vice versa.

By chance, which Iowa lineman are you related to?
Or are you Gary Barnett...IN THE FLESH?
So you just refuse to acknowledge the statistics that prove otherwise?

Also, Gary Barnett was head coach of Colorado like 20 years ago. You mean George Barnett.

Yeah, it is usually best to take the word of a guy who doesn't acknowledge statistics and doesn't even know the name of the coach that he is trying to burn. I hope for your sake that you are just drunk and bored tonight.
So you're gonna die on this hill...defending Barnett and Iowa's pass protection???

You're gonna die a lonely man cause there's no one here besides you willing to do that.

We're just going to have to agree to disagree.
Neither of us will convince the other.

I feel in pretty good company with basic statistics, the Joe Moore Award voters, and the Big Ten coaches who voted on the All-Big Ten teams.

Teams started to avoid kicking to Wetjen about halfway through this season. He was used a few times at WR with good separation but got overthrown a few times. Like Charlie Jones, I think his only value at the next level is indeed kick returns. But Jones was able to increase his draft stock with his WR numbers at Purdue, which makes me think Wetjen may jump ship to achieve similar gains.

It could be that some of these guys can make 6 figures coming back to Iowa and a lot of them really enjoy playing with their teammates and coaches.

It could be that simple. Desmond King came back and other teams didnt throw at him so he had a low stat senior season. But it turned out well for him NFL wise

I got lost somewhere. Are we discussing whether Carol Burnett is a good OL coach?
Kinda!

Somewhere along the way, it became taboo to say anything negative about highly financially compensated college football players.

Iowa's marquee win was over a 7-5 Minnesota team.
But we had some guys that were all conference lineman, so it was a memorable season.

Lowest total passing yards in the B1G...

Hell, yeah...that's dreadful.

JFC
They could make an Olympic sport out of the mental gymnastics you're attempting.
Math is hard. You see the numbers, but your Hawkeye hate blurs your vision. You clearly need to follow a better team, one that meets your expectations.

It may improve your negativity. Your life must suck.

I'm objective enough to realize weaknesses when I see them.

You, OTOH, seem to be a sunshine pumper.
But, hey, you do you.

The losses are actually allowing guys like DeJong to return last season.

Him and Colby playing took minutes from the younger guys needing reps!

Remember...Iowa's signature win was a 7-5 Gopher squad.
Elite stuff.
Colby? Colby wasn't back for an extra year. I do agree a bit with DeJong though.
