for the Nebraska game at the end of the year? We always have a decent turnout in Lincoln it seems. I'll be in section 36A.
Been to both. They're not as bad as they seem to outsiders. There's no conceivable scenario where I end up in:
1. The Middle East
2. Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, NE
I'll be there. It was damn fun two years ago. There was a ton of Hawkeye fans in attendance - the stadium was not full (sellout streak is BS). Tailgating sucks.
Stadium was full, and sellout streak is intact, sorry to burst your bubble.
BTW.....sellout = number of tickets sold, not butts in seat at kickoff, but again, I was there, stadium was full and with a fairly large Iowa contingent
Stadium was NOT full. I have pictures to prove otherwise.
Oh yea. Some schmuck booster buys all those unsold tickets to keep the streak alive. Sellout does not equal capacity attendance however.

The wife and I will be in the north end zone again. I don't think there were as many Hawk fans two years ago as there were four years ago in Lincoln. There were still a lot though.
Were those the tickets the world-herald bought at the last minute? I love how Nebraska's attendance numbers have been different for each game this year yet the "sellout" streak is in tact.
The truth is there have been times over the last decade businesses have bought up tickets at the last minute to keep the 'sellout' streak alive. The tickets were sold so I guess it was indeed a sellout. The attendance figures vary because Nebraska counts visitors, recruits, media, etc. as part of the game-day attendance. Official stadium capacity is right around 87,000. Announced attendance is in the 89,000 to 90,000 range.
I was there also - good crowd but it was not full. Enjoyed the day and the ride home listening to husker fans on the radio. Made me realize how good Iowa fans are even when the Hawks lose (except a few on here). Had a good view of Gregory throwing a punch at the Hawks TE.I was there as well, just as I've been at every game. It was full.
A sellout is a sellout. And all tickets (other than those returned by the visiting schools) are sold before the season starts. Sorry it grinds your gears so much.
Will Iowa sellout this weekend with a 5-0 team? I would hope so.

Well, the question is... could they do it since 1962?I wonder if Iowa could fill an 87,000 seat stadium if Iowa State or UNI didn't exist. If there was another major university in Nebraska, it wouldn't have such a big stadium to fill.

Seriously, can you name me ONE other program, in ANY sport (football, basketball, wrestling, etc...) and on ANY level (high school, college, pro, etc...)...that has been sold out since 1962?
I'll wait.
Nope. And neither can you. Much like your Academic All-Americans, the sell-out streak is pure fantasy perpetuated by the University. Trust me, I know.

It's impressive but a fluke. During the Callahan years there were stories of boosters buying up a couple thousand tickets before games so the streak could continue.Well, the question is... could they do it since 1962?

Suspicious secret for her to keep, bro. You might wanna check her emails and text messages. My wife doesn't know that I know she bought me tickets. Nice way to spend my birthday that day.
Trust me, I know? That's supposed to convince me?
You're full of crap. Trust me, I know!
Nebraska is the "Mother" of all flyover states.
The only way I find myself there is for an Iowa game.
