They threw the first and third plays. They ran reverses. They call punt 'block'. They threw fades. What the hell else could they have done??? Please tell us what would have been 'sexier'???
Color me black and gold, I guess. I stayed until the final second expired. I enjoyed so many things about the game and the players individually, though I was frustrated a time or two, too.
I hung tough until about the three-minute mark, when we chose to go for two first (and failed), effectively taking us out of any possibility of a miracle finish, I admit to a moment (that choice) that felt a little bit like despair - but not for me - for all of them.

The fact that ANYTHING would make you think about kicking an elderly person tells me all I need to know about you. What is wrong with you people? Was that supposed to be funny? It's fricken football game...
Like I tried to tell the losers, the people at the game were cheering till the end for these seniors. But who cares about those kid's feelings, they disappointed a bunch of DB's on a chat room and that's all that matters. Fire KF and kick elderly people!!!
No, the whiney ass fans on this site need to lighten up. It's always about their little feelers. I talked to a couple seniors after the game that were crying about how they played their last home game, but it's ALL about a bunch of douche bags on a fan site who are going to bad mouth everyone, want coaches fired and talk about kicking elderly people and how the team let them down. Really? I NEED TO LIGHTEN UP? Good god.....
Im sure the loss was rough in those seniors. And that sucks... but most of the talk this evening has been about how their coaches have failed them and their inability to put them in a position to succeed. Sorry my elderly joke went over your head... maybe you do need to lighten up if a joke gets your jimmies rustled..
Well, for starters, the other team knows exactly what iowa is doing and what they're trying to run. Maybe it's time to move on to page two of the playbook. And I love that you think these things are sexy in the world of college football.
Been a diehard for 37 years. Got that from my dad.l, who is 80 years old. We watched the game together today. Sadly, it simply became background noise. This is not a good football team. Somethings just not right. And, we’re flat out getting out coached.
For the first time ever I actually read a book(new John Grisham novel)during the game.Something totally unheard of in years past but the level of incompetence shown on offense is beyond description.Good book,terrible game.
They also could have ran a qb read option on 3rd and 9 and a myriad of other bone head calls. Oh wait they did.

I took my kids shopping for wrestling shoes at halftime versus Wisconsin. Haven't watched a down of Iowa football since. I realized I was not enjoying myself. I understand it is a game being played by kids for my entertainment. I am no longer entertained. I am looking forward to having the Iowa women's basketball in town for 3 games this week more than the Nebraska game on Friday. I spent yesterday scouting out campgrounds up around Lake Okeechobee. I enjoyed the day and found a couple of new spots to hit over the holidays.
I agree with this 100%. And I've been saying it for at least 5 years now. Who would want to come be part of this?
I'm not totally serious as I get why RB or TE might want to be a Hawk. But WR? Nope, and what's our biggest problem? Maybe it is chicken vs egg.
The game literally slipped my mind yesterday. I mean, I obviously knew it started at 2:30 ahead of time. But I got to doing stuff outside and farting around the garage, and came inside around 3 for a snack. I glanced at the microwave clock and it still didn’t register for a minute, then I was like, “Oh yeah, the Hawks game.”

First season i didn't go to a game in 10 years. After going to ndsu and northwestern last year, i couldn't justify the time and money. So many other things to do with your time.
It's very hard for me to stay awake during games. Losing isn't fun but our style of play is even less fun. I don't want a big 12 style offense but at least a product more entertaining than C-span or the Lifetime channel.
I didn't wait for the second touchdown. I ran some errands and listened on the radio between stops. I checked the final score when I got home and then erased the game from the DVR. If only I could erase my memory of the first 38 minutes.
