Anyone love the show "Cops?"

I used to watch it all the time years ago. I remember it was on Saturday nights on Fox when I was a kid.

I hadn't watched "Cops" in years and saw an episode filmed in Kansas last night.

3 cops were called to a store break-in. They find a guy inside the store who tries to run and they tackle him and handcuff him.

He must have been strong as a bull because it took 5 cops to finally handcuff him. It turns out he was a homeless military veteran, or so he claimed. He said he was looking for cigarettes.

I have no idea how police do that job...driving around all night responding to emergencies and dealing with the dregs of society. I once heard a lawyer on the radio say that cops are "societies garbage men." That seems pretty harsh but accurate.

I can't even imagine being a cop.

Cops, EMTs, firefighters… most people have no idea what they deal with every day and night. My wife is former MPLS fire. I’ve heard it all. Crazy people, abusive homes, repeat calls to the same drug addicts. She’s saved lives and watched many end. It’s brutal.
