Or more precisely, anyone use a classical or other nylon string guitar for playing around the house? (Whatever the genre)

Personally I like the classic. Nylon to gets a lot of getting used too. But I do like the sound of the nylon better. Just can't get over the feel.

Yes. I bought a Yamaha cgx102 about a year ago for a specific gig. I had never had a nylon string guitar before, and I generally disliked playing them in the past. I know now that my problem was I was trying to play them like my other guitars, but they are different. I have a lot of fun just goofing off fingerstyle with it now. I have been playing poor man’s Joao Gilberto type stuff, other jazzy nonsense, and some DIY attempts at arrangements of sections of Dvorak symphony 9.

I’ve never heard it called a classical guitar before. Is that a new term? Acoustic guitar is how I’ve always known it to be called.

I was referring to nylon string guitars… I guess I’ve always heard them called classical guitars generally?

I was fiddling around with this one at Guitar Center the other day. It’s kind of like a hybrid electric/classical. The neck isn’t as wide as a typical classical guitar. Was kinda interesting.

I’m terrible but it looked fun.
