Their opponent is also one of the FCS powerhouses, so it should be a pretty good game. If anyone thinks the Iowa-NDSU is going to be a cakewalk, they should think again. If you look over the last 5 years at Sagarin's all-D1 rankings, the lowest they have been is #35, and they have finished as high as #17. They basically are a borderline top 25 over the last 5 years. I hope I am proven wrong, but I am expecting this to be a very tough test.
Trade secrets, my friend....Hats off to Mac Brown. Sydeney, Australlia yesterday and now in North Dakota.
Actually for those that didn't know, these announcers yesterday called the Cal-Hawaii game in Australlia from the studio in Bristol. I assume this is where they are announcing it as well.
secrets outTrade secrets, my friend....
Stick = NDSU not having a good game. The bison look average.

Ok, I thought again. And it's still pretty clear to me that we're gonna stomp'em. The Bison may even come into the game with a loss to a FCS team

All I meant is that they are ranked high now, and ranked high last year.10-3,8-4, 10-3, 5-6, 0-11, Then one 9 win season in the other 20 years of their existence.
Yeah great powerhouse there.
And they would still beat Iowa State by 3 touchdowns.NDSU is terrible

And for the earlier post, yes, Illinois State had a good team, but they haven't been nearly at the same level as the Bison. Just going purely on rankings, Sagarin had NDSU at 36, while Illinois St was 76, so they weren't that close. By the way, according to those rankings, NDSU was better than Nebraska, Pittsburgh, and Northwestern. I would love to see the Hawks roll them, but can see this being a very competitive game if their team is anything like it has been the last 5 years.
Iowa must be proud to have them on their schedule!NDSU is terrible
Didn't Nebraska almost lose to South Dakota State a few years ago?Iowa must be proud to have them on their schedule!
So which do we go by, past success or just this year. On one hand you argue Charleston Southern is good based on this year, then you write an entire paragraph about NDSU past success. So which is it?
Didn't he want to come to Iowa? Did he play high school ball in Omaha?Nick DeLuca is a stud. NDSU's OLine is definitely not what it was last year. Bring the heat to them and they fold. Ya hear that, Hawks???
Secondary guys looked like 4A HS football players size wise!Look how small their defense is. Iowa should run all over them.
CSU was very good last year for FCS, which I mentioned (not just this year's ranking). But I do think NDSU's great success for over half a decade is a lot more impressive than most good FCS teams. I would just say I am more concerned about this game than the Iowa State game.

That just shows that computer rankings (at least Sagarin) are flawed. They play one FBS team per year, and usually not a very good one. The game might be tough, but they're not a top-40 team, ever. You have to play good teams (plural) to be a good team.Their opponent is also one of the FCS powerhouses, so it should be a pretty good game.
