This. Dial in the temp and check regularly when it's close to time.

f off. I could care less about spelling on a holiday

Did you do the 5 second search? You are full of shit on this topic.

How does government regulations NOT increase pressure to save money somewhere else in the production process to pay for complying with the government regulations?

Solid point. I'm disappointed that we have regulations on food safety, cars, etc.

In this particular case, manufacturers figured out how to make long-lasting, reliable refrigerator compressors in the 1940s. But they weren't very energy efficient. So now they have to reinvent the wheel thanks to the global warming agenda. Predictable results ensued.

Please tell me you are not a climate change denier. If you don't believe in global warming, I really don't think I will value anything you post again.

Trad, I like you. But you are so full of shit in this post. Making shit up.
Maybe and maybe not.
My GE washer is 3 years old and I have to use the “deep fill” feature on it every single time just to get enough water in there to cover a smaller load of clothes. But it’s supposed to be “saving water”
😡🙄

The ice maker on our 2.5 year old GE refrigerator died and was out of warranty. The repair guy installed a new one and admitted that during and shortly after Covid the manufacturers were using whatever component and parts they could get their hands on. With the service call I’m out $410.

We have reached the 10 year mark on all of our appliances. In the last 3 years, replaced the Washer, Dryer and Dishwasher. Above stove microwave is acting up as is the refrigerator. Stove is the only appliance left that doesn’t have something wrong with it.

My over the stove microwave from 1995 went out during Covid and instead of repair/replace I ordered a smaller countertop Black and Decker micro delivered that works just fine. It was under $75. I use the one over the stove to store all my Rubbermaid Food Savers.

Still have my parents 1942 GE refrigerator in my shop at the summer home cooling drinks .
If you ever need help moving that thing please don’t ask me. Dad and I moved a 1950s fridge out of his cabin and it was probably the heaviest thing I have ever helped move. Pretty sure it was a GE.

I accidently bounced it down the cement steps from the garage to the basement 10 yrs ago before taking it to the summer home.
Let it set a few days before plugging in. Keeps on ticking after taking a lickin. Had to fix a loose screw on the handle in the door this summer. Good as new. Mine really is not that heavy to me.

The house we moved to a couple years ago had GE Profile appliances. Washer/dryer, oven/stove, dishwasher, refrigerator, and microwave. There are some features that I really like (washer/dryer smart sensor for washing/drying, Keurig built into fridge, etc) but the fridge is like $4k to replace which seems crazy steep. Thankfully there is a good appliance repair guy here in Linn Co.
