Exaggeration, I know, but in the games I've watched Iowa isnt the only big ten team that has been out-athletic'd. Seems half the roster on every team is 6'5"-6'9" guys that can handle, run, jump & shoot. I dont think any big ten team is built that way.

As someone that lives in the state of Illinois, I can say there are not many in the area that fit that description. The few that are seen to end up at Duke, Kansas or Kentucky. In recent Big 10 history there has been Caris Levert, Oladipo, a couple Spartans, Diop from OSU, Isiah Roby and a few other Wolverines. It is not a lot.

It’s the same problem as football, but its just less pronounced in basketball. Population growth is all in the south and out west, while the rust belt is declining continually. Since 2016 the B1G has only had 12 NBA first round picks, last year alone the SEC had 6.

It's been said many times before and I will say it again, but if Illinois kept even some of their top tier talent in-state they would seriously be a Blue Blood in basketball program. Losing Bill Self to Kansas was that worst thing that ever happened to them. There was an article in the Sunday trib that talked about getting IL kids to stay in state (i.e. Ayo), but yeah for the most part they venture off to Duke, Kansas, Villanova, and even tOSU. I know it happens to Iowa too, but the state of IL has studs year in year out leave for the Blue Blood programs....

Yes. Watch out for Hunter Salis from Omaha, top 50 junior who fits the bill per above. Likes Gonzaga. Omaha Bilew as well.

Sorry, dumb question - so the red represents All American high school or college players?

There is a four star at Dport Assumption going to play for Shaka. Kid probably didnt have a cool of enough back story for an offer.
