Arnold is a Hawk

Would also love to see Luke Lilledahl from SEM in the black and gold. He's very saavy and smooth. Beat Kilkeary in the finals at Super 32. In my opinion he's a 133, not a 125. Slight chance of growing into 141. The family has a great relationship with Sammy the Bull as well. Let's get greedy and have 4 SEM wrestlers on the roster (Arnold, Franklin, Shapiro, and Lilledahl) 😉

It’s good that even though you’re relatively new on here you saw through the BS that is trolls and fake Iowa fans and saw the real fans on here. Hopefully you get to meet some of us when you come watch Gabe wrestle.
Yeah, there are 2-3 guys that have multiple aliases and troll accounts. It becomes clearer and clearer the longer is me reads these boards.

The Sem-Hawkeye pipeline is now OFFICIALLY open for business. And that pipeline is STRONG. . . .

You guys ok if I hang out here for awhile?
Hey coach, first, I'm impressed with how your son presents himself - it's clear that you and your wife have been outstanding parents - reminds me of Spencer and his family.

Second, there are two scenarios regarding you hanging out in this cesspool. One scenario is that Gabe is a 4-time undefeated NCAA champion. The other scenario is that if/when he loses matches, there will be criticism on here. I'm confident you'll know how to handle it and not react (completely ignore it like you didn't even read it). Seems like you have solid perspective on things related to wrestling, heck it's been part of you for a long time.

Last comment, a question -- do you and Gabe do full-gos with each other, and how does that turn out? Does old-man strength and cunning win out? :)

ALL the Hawkeye fans on here helped solidify our decision. I told my son about reading a post a few months ago on here regarding my son being a "cultural" fit for the Iowa program. Son guy didn't our right say it, but those that read it knew EXACTLY what he was implying. So I didn't respond...... I waited. What were the REAL Hawkeye fans going to say to this guy?

Your response was exactly what I knew in my heart it would be. After reading a few of your responses, I actually felt bad for the guy. You guys brutalized him. I told Gabe that. His response, "Did you expect anything else? They know I love country music"......

Go HAWKS!!
Athletics transends "cultural" fits, music choices, and most other bullshit in life. Do what makes you the best. Yes, yes, yes.

What an awesome kid with a great family!! Welcome aboard!! GO HAWKS!! KEEP IT ROLLING!!

After the kick in the dick receiving the Spencer Lee news (which good for him, he deserves to wrestle healthy). Hearing that this young stud is going to don the black and gold was the only bit of news that could neutralize that wound.

We are inheriting a great kid and family from what I can tell. Welcome aboard, can't wait to scream my lungs out for this guy.

Ha! I promised my son that this year I was going to focus on MY health and get my body back to where I can give him what he deserves. Once I am where I need to be, we’ll do exactly what J’den and I did; go to the room, family is only, and work it all out. (That match with J and I is still on Youtube).

I’ll let you know how this one works out.

Future lineup

125- Jesuroga
133- Ayala
141-Schriever
149- Henson
157- Riggins/Rathjen?
165- Kennedy
174- Arnold
184- ?
197- Franklin
HWT- Kueter

Could be scary good.

The more the merrier, but we are in good hands with Ayala and Jesuroga for years to come at 125-133. Don't know if Henson is a career 141, but if he is the lighter weights are in great shape. Schreiver is a scrapper too. Looking good down low.

The Iowa cupboard is far from bare folks. This squad up and down the lineup is going to be a handful.

Great, so that turd Curtis Lowe being a turd on here opened the door for the next great Hawk?! Seriously though as a fan all you gotta see is Gabe wrestle a couple matches and do a couple post match interviews and you can see he’s a top level recruit

FWIW, and for your viewing pleasure, this was the match that I fell in love with Gabe as a recruit, but never in a million years did I think we’d have a shot with him. Learned about his connection to Mizzou and thought he’d be a lock in Columbia…. Although the takes and L here, his mat IQ blew my mind! Not to mention, check out the size, age, and physical maturity he’s giving up here but still being the “bully”.

And now here we are. Pickled tink! GO HAWKS!

Congrats to the kid and to Iowa and their coaching staff. I’m assuming 174/184? Big get in a much needed weight.
After watching that video against Paddy. Maybe he’s a 157/165 guy. I have no idea lol.

Not a bad showing at all from 15 yr old at the time, especially considering who he was going up against. Paddy Gallagher is known for his pace and physicality and he’s damn good at both. Gabe hung in there with him and showed some impressive scrambling.
