Pretty light sentence, but at least he got real jail time. Defense was seeing probation only.

8 months in a federal prison won't be fun. This isn't going to be a white collar upstate prison either.
I agree it should be longer. On the other hand he did show remorse and didn't do any damage.
This is an under-represented point. You do deserve a penalty for entering the Capitol; but if you didn't physically attack officers or damage shit, that doesn't need to be 10 yrs in jail.
Guaranteed. Those charged with any violence, assault, carrying weapons and destruction are going to be sentenced to some serious time if this is any indication of what is yet to come. And they will deserve every damn minute of it.

Helmet Boy is facing up to 40 years prison time for, among other things, his violent action to smash the door windows to the House chamber which immediately preceded Ashli Babbit's death. I will keep praying that he continues to represent himself going forward.

There are a few questions here that we need to know.
1) Are those who were part of the 'reconnaissance' tours also then seen inside the capital 6 Jan?
2) If so, is there direct / additional correspondence between the Reps and those individuals? Note that not all individuals have been identified / charged, so this may remain an open question.
3) Surely more than these 7 gave tours. Who else isn't named, and why?
I don't think anyone's surprised to hear this, given it's been speculated for months and there's pictures of at least two of the mentioned giving tours.
