7) Frost
8) Campbell*

I don't think you have any.

Why on earth do you have Kirk 10th? He has won big ten championships and been coach of the year more then once. Frost has yet to win a game in the Big, let a lone coach one. My thoughts are your rankings are......In my childrens language......Totally Gay, or even Brian Boitano gay.
I finally realized, that he is an Iowa State fan. That’s why he’s been trolling our boards for months

The performance of the last 2 coaches after leaving Wisconsin should cast some doubt whether Chryst is the cause for Wisconsins success under him. That program's success is early 100% due to Barry Alvarez

I don't know why everybody is so down on Harbaugh, they were a qb away from taking the east this year

Actually it does because at the beginning of the thread, people were wondering why was Riley ahead of Fleck and Brohm? Well, it's because both were new to the conference so nobody really knew how good they would do and Riley was coming off of a 9 win season
;)

1. Dantonio
2.Chryst
3. Fitzgerald
4. Meyer
5.Ferentz
6.Harbaugh
Who really cares after top 6
I'm a big Chryst guy, I think he is a scary good fit for Wisconsin because he doesn't have much of an ego but "King Barry" is the "Real Head" football coach at Wisconsin. He has complete control over everything that happens in the football program. Straight from Brett B. "We couldn't recruit, change a players number or go to the bathroom without permission"... There are reasons that Wisconsin has gone through some coaches and is still so good. Barry A. is the best football coach/ AD in the country but not an easy man to coach for. IMO, Chryst record outside of Wisconsin was only above average so I wouldn't put him so high on my list.

However, a QB is an important part of a team.

One game does not over-shadow an entire season.

Don't bother. The same guy conveniently forgets that the best regular season with Norm as coach ended with Carson Palmer throwing all over his secondary in a route. He'll jump to whatever anecdotal evidence supports his limited argument at the time.

No doubt, there's no way Harbaugh doesn't get that part of the game figured out though

I'm also not clear on why everyone is so high on Dantonio. He had success when Michigan was down and when he had Narduzzi. He's a good coach, but he's not a top 5 coach in the B1G imo. Meyer, Brohm, Franklin, Harbaugh, Ferentz, and Fitzgerald are all better coaches

That seems to be the story each year. Kind of suprizing for a QB guru, don't you think? Yes, I know that next year will only be year four for Harbough, but they don't look any better at QB then they did in year one. All of these guys came in with some rep, and none of them, (after JR), look like they have a clue.

Don't kid yourself. Dantonio is a damn good coach. Not a fan of his, but he's the real deal. I said before this season if he could pull out a good record this year, given the mess from last year, and all the defections, it would be his best job since he's been at MSU. Damned if he didn't do it too. Regardless of what Michigan was doing, he still had to get the job done, and he's taken the Spartans to 3 Conf Champ Games. More then any other coach but Meyer. Putting Brohm or Harbough in front of him is ridiculous.

How it actually should be:
1) Meyer- Not debatable
2) Brohm- Got most out of least
3) Chryst- Didn't think he would continue to win and has
4) Kirk- Stability, consistency and just good man/coach
5) Fitz- Perfect fit for where he is
6) Dantonio- Wins but MSU cover-up stuff I just can't get over
7) Durkin- Great recruiter
8) Harbaugh- Downward trending and fast
9) Franklin- See what happens to offense when SB doesn't make 13 guys miss tackles
10) Ash- tough spot to be in at Rutgers
11) Fleck- All talk
12) Allen- I mean its indiana
13) Lovie- Seems like the laziest coach ever, loved him as Bears coach. Better suited for NFL
14) Riley- How you can have 2 losing seasons at a blue blood is beyond me

You serious on that list mhh24?

1) Meyer - How many B1G Championships?
2) Dantonio - Two B1G Championships
3) Franklin - 1 B1G Championship
4) Chryst - 34 wins in three years @ Wisky
5) Ferentz - 2 B1G Championships/1 title app
6) Fitz - turned NW into a contender
7) Harbaugh - Nothing in B1G after 3 years
8) Brohm - 6 wins first year, year two?
9) Durkin - Guy can recruit, cant stay healthy
10) Ash - Rutgers is competitive

13) Frost - This B1G football, move up by win
14) Smith - two Illinois programs destroyed

I am, although maybe a bit high too soon for Brohm. Can't argue Dantonio other than I think he is a scumbag. Franklin I get the argument, but I truly think without the best player in football he won't do so well-but might just bring in another stud? Other than that we really do not deviate all that much

I agree...Chryst up...Harbaugh down. (has there been a more consistently overrated coach?)

The reason UW has remained good is because Anderson left before he could tank the program as bad as he was about to. The credit should go to Chryst. Bielema should divide his buyout from Arkansas between Chryst and Bob Bostad because they are the only reason he ever won the conference at UW.

Don't agree. Give Meyer the iowa players & he doesn't come close to kirks record. He's a recruiter in a metro area w lots of $$ for shenanigans. Harbaugh.. has the all around skills.. has done it @ every level. Same w Franklin. Vandy.. Stanford?? Not easy places to win.
Meyer took over a 6-7 Ohio State team coming into sanctions. The man led Bowling Green and Utah without top level talent. He has won everywhere at a higher clip than the coach he has followed. He went 12-0 his first year at Ohio State without his players.

3 National Titles at two different schools. BCS Bowl berth and win at Utah who wasn't a P5 school at the time. You can hate the man for various reasons but to say he isn't the best coach in the conference is ridiculous.

I get it though, Ohio State has been the flag bearer for so long and he gets the best recruits. That doesn't take away the fact that he has helped to revolutionize the way college football coaches are more like ceos now, not gruff greybeards like Hayes or Bryant.

I am not big on hypothetical conclusions either and think Meyer is top notch coach (even though I hate OSU) Have you seen some of his videos speaking to campers- good stuff and he puts up with 0 BS

I haven't, I did watch a video of him explaining the spread while at Utah.

To say the man doesn't get in there and coach em' up like he did at Utah or Bowling Green is accurate. However that doesn't mean he has lost his edge or drive. He and Saban are two of the best ever at locating bright young assistant coaches and letting them take charge of their respective positions.

This is not a knock on Ferentz or 95% of the other college coaches but Meyer and Saban lose defensive or offensive staffers to head coaching positions. This alone speaks volumes about how they prepare better and more importantly get their assistants ready to run their own programs.

Meyer wouldn't coach two stars anymore. He has moved on from that phase of his career because he has evolved and continued to succeed. Recruiting is very hard and time consuming, you need a big budget and a deep staff of proven talent evaluaters to land top ten classes. Top talents want to go to programs where they most feel comfortable, but also a place that can get them to the NFL. They need great development to get there. Great development equals great coaching.

So you are putting 2 second year coaches ahead of Kirk and 1 who hasn't coached in the B1G yet? Got it.
