Can you guys give me your thoughts on Gibsonton, FL? Misses(no pic) was offered a job there that she really wants, but it's not exactly where we want to be. Any info on that area would be appreciated. TIA.

It's a suburb of Tampa. Lots of big city stuff within reach, and lots of nature stuff to do as well. No info on the actual town, but there are worse places one could live in Florida.

Well, maybe if you're talking about north of Tampa. It's the side of the state that isn't filthy dirty from all the north-easterners.

Hey, she could commute in from Tampa. And I haven't been there for some time. I checked Yelp and they do have some good bars so that's a good sign.
Yea, obviously we wouldn't have to live in Gibsonton. We really want to be in Sarasota though and that's too far of a commute. She has tons of options for jobs including Sarasota area. The Gibsonton job was her preferred position.
Honestly you could commute from Sarasota, although It would probably be a 45 minutes to 1 hour (maybe longer) commute. I did something similar for a little while when I was working in South Tampa and it was a pain in the ass (even though I was still living and working right off the interstate). Now, you wouldn't have to go across the Skyway everyday, but still...You would probably have to commute up 41 and that would be kind of nightmarish I would think, although I've never personally done it.
The only problem is that Sarasota can get a little expensive to live in, but that might not be a problem for you rich northern folk.
Where in Sarasota is she looking at working? Is it up towards the University area or is she looking at a job farther south, around Siesta and such?
Yeah, "Malfunction Junction" (aka I-275 and I-4) is a real tragedy to say the least.
