That was not a smart shot from the Maryland player. He tried to be the hero and chucked a 28-footer with 5 seconds left. There was no attempt to get a better shot. He had plenty of time. The rebound deflected right into MSU's hands and gave them the winning shot.

Yep. Sometimes you take the shot a little early in hopes for an offensive rebound. This time, it backfired. Although, when a team throws in a shot from over half court, there's definitely luck involved.

Checking out his recruiting stuff. He wasn't even graded as a prospect out of high school in Omaha. Had an offer from Omaha and D2 Missouri Western State before Niko Medved got him. Great piece of recruiting by Medved but it doesn't look like anyone had eyes on him. 1st team All-State and played at the highest class level in Nebraska.
