Fran has seemed to skew more towards Athletic in the last couple years than years past. One of Fran's earliest recruits was Olesani and I thought he was great. Fran never really got another defensive minded big, though Cook was a good get (and I was thrilled when he signed).
Mulvey and Josh Odungule, less thrilled.

Yeah I think the “more athletic” is exactly where he’s been going…..and with the 2025 class in particular.

IF…..emphasis on IF, we get Lewis along with the kid that just transferred in from Miami…add that to the two previous guys….very athletic class.

Seydou and Drew in the portal……still recruiting an athletic 7 foot Juco center.

Next years roster should be very athletic.

Fran having two sons on the team likely hurt Iowa's recruiting efforts. A friend of mine has a son who went on to play for Xavier. Interestingly, he had been a roommate with Patrick McCaffery at an all-star camp a few years ago. When this player was being recruited out of Bergen Catholic in New Jersey, I spoke with his father about Iowa's basketball program. He told me, "There’s no way I’d send my son to Iowa with Fran’s sons on the team."

Promising recruit who might take a little time to develop. Add the portal transfer, who is a 3/4 and should be ready to contribute right away, and the Hawks should be looking for a guard and true center. If Thelwell can get a 6th year, which might be a big IF, that would sure make me feel a lot better about the backcourt, assuming no one transfers out. We seem to have more than enough 4s.

Put this kid in a weightlifting program and protein diet to bulk up.... immediately!

I was worried early because he looked so mechanical and slowish. He looked better as the game advanced. More instinctual. Hit a couple jumpers. He plays way too much defense, though.
