Baltimore is getting real........

Time to get serious.

Maybe they should what?
Oh, I replied to the wrong post. Maybe more white teens (or people in general) should riot was my point. Squeaky wheel and all. Imagine what would have happened if we burned down Wall Street and Goldman Sachs?

This is nuts to watch it's only been one year and here we are again. I'm at a loss for words these people actually don't see a problem with what they are doing. Half the police force is black you have a black mayor and it's the same thing over and over again.

Who's he? The guy who's refused to declare a state of emergency and activate the Guard is the governor, who's making noises about challenging Hillary for the Democratic nomination.
I haven't heard any rumblings about Larry Hogan challenging Hillary Clinton in the Democratic primary. Haven't heard anything about him running in his own parties primary either.

Just sad. A nice peaceful protest would have provided a significant message. This is pure lawlessness, and I have the feeling gangs are involved. I'm watching the Cubs, so, I am not doing the wall-to-wall riot coverage thing. I don't see that many respectable looking people running in and out of that liquor store, or running out of the mall loaded down with clothes.

How many of those protesters are Republicans? Most likely NONE. Way to go Libs.

You'll have to forgive LC, he's old and stupid.

It's a minor miracle if he can even find his car keys in the morning and remember which pills to take.

Ugh, moving in to Fells Point near my BIL. Small group of idiots just taking things too far. Burning things down(including trying to destroy fire hoses) and stealing things don't help the cause people

Black youths? Pepperman is going to rub it raw tonight.

I am not enjoying any of this. I will say these cops need to be in jail because they clearly caused the spinal injury to Gray. But I really don't think many of these riot participants give much of a crap about Gray, or any other black lives (based on what I see of current black culture). Call me crazy.

These same brand of thugs kill each other over NOTHING day after day, by the thousands each year... yet riot when the rare cop gets too rough and someone dies. Sickening to me anyone can excuse this for anything other than what it is, disgusting evil behavior.

Not sure they need to be in jail, depends on how the injury occurred.

Clarenda, as I understand things, he gets put into the van and uses his legs to help get in. He asks for medical attention. 30 minutes or so later he is paralyzed. SOMETHING happened in that van ride, and if not, the cops have already admitted they should have gotten him medical treatment sooner.

I'm not usually sympathetic to a criminal's plight, but flip this around and imagine how you'd feel if that were your child? Especially over a switchblade knife? I would want answers and I'd want somebody to be held accountable.

Maybe there are facts I don't know. I admittedly have not followed this as closely as I should have been, but I had no idea how big of a story it would be by today.

Accidents happen, could he have had a drug induced seizure..Yup, who knows. If my kid had been arrested add many times as Freddy had been, I'd have killed him already.

His spine was nearly severed. That is the result of a violent incident. The cops have been interviewed and they won't talk.
not hard to figure out...

Anything is possible and that's why this needs the full investigation. But I'm talking about what's PROBABLE. I think he was given a "rough ride" to the station. They had him cuffed and then shackled his legs, but they did not put his seatbelt on him, which is a violation of policy. The linked article from the Atlantic is worth a read...

Yep sounds like a bad deal but... these people are killing each other by the thousands every year. Why is this such an issue to those who clearly do not value human life (in reference to the violent rioter thugs)?

Clearly the cops have been told to stand down and let crimes happen including letting themselves be assaulted. Crazy times people.

'These people'? Come on man...
People are tired of having the police abuse them and their rights.

I think leadership is smart to not have the cops escalate this situation. It's bad...but it could be much worse. If the cops had wanted a fight, this city is ready to give them one tonight.

The problem is, in Baltimore 90% of all Black deaths are caused by other Blacks. Why is there no outrage to this? I will tell you that most of the original assailants were high schools and I have a hard time believing they gave to sh!ts who Freddie was. So then you ask, was it worth it, and when will the African-American community in Baltimore take a look in the mirror and figure out how they can solve some of they problems they are facing among themselves.

I understand the mayor and police dept. have dropped the ball in this investigation and created a pr nightmare, but I believe cops will be arrested once the investigation is over with.

What a load of crap. "People" (haven't seen a lot of them in these protests) aren't tired where I live of police abusing them and their rights. Oh that's right. It's because we aren't constantly running afoul of the law. If leadership was smart, a nicely place hellfire missile to the front of the CVS store this evening would have been the best thing that has happened to Baltimore in some time.

A crack dealer dies, and this is the response America gets from the "community." We are screwed.

What this all comes down to, is a lack of education, lack of good parenting, and a lack of common sense. The police can be #$#$# and we all know this. This display isn't doing anything but causing more angst against the black community.

The mayor isn't a very good leader. Either. The councilman that was talking on the news, pretty much said exactly what I said. He wasn't making excuses.

This is like what came first the chicken or the egg. did cops start profiling blacks leading to more arrests and a broken culture or did blacks start committing crimes first leading to more profiling and a broken culture. One may never know.
