pu and illini in an exciting second half battle.
curbelo goes off to send it to OT.

Yep....let me post this here in another thread....

That's why I love this game....for anybody watching Illini/PU.....PU had this game in control and for all purposes....won in regulation.....but nah....too easy and no drama to tell that story. Like yesterday's game but too more talented teams but it's college basketball at it's best. In OT now - 72-71 Illini and Kofi just fouled out....crazy game.

Watching both teams it appears that Iowa”s primary issue is guard play. Both Purdue and Illinois have some good guards. Makes a big difference.

pu taking over the last 90 seconds or so. back door cuts x 2 that illini did not defend well.

These guards can get off shots quickly or penetrate to the basket under control most of the time.

great game. pu smarter and more disciplined at the end to close this one out.
Yep....great game and like Bardo said, there is going to be a lot of movement in the top 7 teams in the conference which includes Iowa....and with NW's win at MSU, you can't sleep on the other 7 teams either.......brutal.

And like the other poster said, to think both our games against Illinois and Purdue were winnable games...nobody predicted this before the season started.

High level ball with talent on both sides. Whether or not I like the teams, I do enjoy watching some of the best players competing in a hard fought game with incredible plays being made on both sides. For example I despise duke and am not a fan of unc, but when they put on one of their incredible shows with superior talent on both sides I'm absolutely watching for the entertainment value.

I have nothing against Purdue. Glad they won today in Champaign. But I do, and always will, hate Illinois. Glad Kofi fouled out with ten mighty points, and glad the Orange Crush went home with tears frozen to their little orange cheeks. Iowa gets the chance to match that to close the regular season. Wouldn't that be nice . . .
