Barta email

It won't do any good until the big donors demand it. Don't see that happening, Barta has the majority of them in his pocket.

That is not true. He is only tolerated. He is a hard person to like by donors. I was one and told the Levitt Center I was through with giving as long as Barta was AD. I was told my message would be passed on up the line.

He or one of his staff replied to a message of mine 6-7 years ago.

Contacting barta is worthless unless you can get him to fire himself.

If your going to take the time, write the President. Get Barta replaced and go from there.

And if I told you wolverines would make great house pets, would you believe that?
And how much money have you given over the past mr. smart ass. I can name names discussed in my conversation but it serves no purpose in this public message board. My mailbox contains a request for a U of I fund raiser almost every other day. Certainly weekly. Money talks, bullshit walks . What is your plan for making a change ?

An actual letter would probably get read, but even if he received 50,000 letters Barta would not fire Fran.

It would be better to flood President Harrald with letters to get rid of Barta. And for the students to organize a protest on Harrold’s lawn.
Honestly, how many students really care.

It all starts with the UI President.

The UI President extended Barta's contract.

Barta extended Fran and the UI President ok'd the deal.

Nothing is changing anytime soon.

Might be a good idea to drop the current AD a note about the state of Iowa basketball. I for one would like to see Bruce Pearl back in Iowa City.
I don't think hiring Pearl, especially since he is almost 60 would be a good hire. 10 years ago would have been much better. If they were to move on from Fran, which they will not, they need to hire someone who is between the age of 35-50.

One would think there is a morality clause that would make the buyout null and void. At the least, I’d negotiate a lower buyout due to him damaging the reputation of the university.
