Well, now that CJ has a hip pointer, KF says CJ may not run any more QB sneaks. Ever heard the one about closing the barn door after the horses have escaped? KF seems pretty proficient at that kinda thing.

CJ was his spry old self against Minny until that late QB sneak that never should have been necessary.

But here's the thing: If you have a QB who's been dinged most of the season and has suddenly, almost miraculously recovered, why the hell keep running him into the teeth of an 11-man front on a sneak?

Why didn't KF and Co. have, say, D. Mitchell run the sneak? Practice it for five minutes a day for a couple days and, boom, you've got an RB running the ball instead of the one guy you cannot afford to lose or to get reinjured so his mobility is, again, compromised.

Just a crazy thought. Not as obvious, perhaps, as expecting an RB to fall down short of the goal line on a long TD run, but still....

It looked to me like a gopher punched CJ in the balls at the bottom of that pile but it was hard to tell exactly.

You sure have a major hate of coach Ferentz don't you. This season must just be killing you as you have to find just about anything to bitch about. I have no problem with the sneak, really actually like the call you hit the line a lot faster, less chance of a mistake on the hand off and the run it before the D line can really get set. I will agree it is to bad he got injured on that play but he could be injured on just about any play during the game. Why not just sit back and enjoy the ride this team is taking us all on this year, let's just hope it continues through Purdue and then Neb. to end the regular season unbeaten.

If you can't run a QB sneak with your QB, then he shouldn't be in the game. This is football, there's going to be contact. I'm not sticking up for KF, I'm tired of the original poster's negativity and bs.

There were about 3 QB sneaks that CJ didn't get hurt on. How can that be. Just more I hate KF from CVK and his ilk.

Fair enough. But would CJ have been running sneaks vs Northwestern? Probably not.

All I know is I had 2009 Stanzi vs Northwestern flashbacks when CJ was laying there. We cannot lose him, obviously, so it's not so crazy to question the play call, which KF himself did post game.
