Out of curiosity, I looked at what Petras, who we all know was not a rushing qb, rushed for in his career at Iowa. Even I was shocked when I saw -294 yards! Yes, NEGATIVE 294 yards!!! In fact, just in his last two games, Sullivan has out rushed every qb since CJ Beathard whose last year was 2016.

Granted, the qb position requires someone who can also pass, but what we are seeing is what WE as fans have been pounding the table for the last 9 years wanting someone who can also utilize his legs to help move the chains and help the running game.

I am hoping the Sullivan effect is opening KF’s eyes to the qb position and how much more it can improve an offense when you have someone who is elusive and is a running threat, also. It still irritates me how Lainez could have positively influenced the offense last year simply by bringing a different element and threat the defense has to respect.

Agreed, what I can’t figure out is why KF wouldn’t be salivating over what Sullivan delivers in Kirk’s highly conservative offensive scheming desires. With his mobility and added benefit to the running game Kirk gets what Kirk always wanted; the opportunity to run the ball over 75% of the time. His desire to stick with Cade is a total head scratcher.

True. KF is all about wanting to have a balanced attack, but what he fails to recognize is that if you have a competent passer that can run, it opens up a lot more things on your offense that also allows you to have far fewer negative plays.

But....but.....but....what if he gets hurt running and can't play.
If Sully went down with no Cade and no Lainez, we were up **** creek w/o a paddle
Respectfully, KF
As compared to standing there waiting to be sacked.

Petras had a garbage turnstile as an o-line. In fact the o-line has been worthless for years. Remember all the fire the o-line coach posts. He and Padilla had no chance those years.

Yep, as pointed out even by the analyst in last night's game, having a QB who is a threat to run keeps the opposing defense honest. Can't just sell out to stop KJ. Sullivan doesn't even have to run a ton.. Just having that threat on the field seems to make a huge difference.

Not sure why KF has always been so clueless and stubborn in that regard. He seems to like his QBs that just sit in the pocket and distribute the ball.

I actually have enjoyed watching the offense this past game and a half. If KF reinstalls Cade as starting QB when he's healthy again, I riot.

KF keeps mentioning the intentional grounding play.
Cade wouldn't have made that play because he cant keep a play alive with his lack of mobility. He'd of just thrown another incomplete pass or interception .
