We were able to speak to C.J. Beathard today after the coaches spoke.
He was very relaxed, seems that way most of the time, but there is a bit of sense of relief from him that the QB situation has been settled. Certainly very confident in what he brings to the table, which I think this team needs.
Said the coaches have told him they would like to see him slide a bit more when he runs because he took some big shots, especially in the bowl game.
Said he was obviously happy when he saw the depth chart in January. Said the comments from his dad were overblown at the time. Never threatened to leave. Had no plans to transfer if he wasn't named the starter. Said the last time he talked to Jake was a few weeks ago and wished him luck. I asked him if it was awkward during bowl prep and he said it was a little, but they were always helpful towards each other.
Will have the video up later today. We are getting into practice today for about 15 minutes so look for pics and videos this evening.
