Unfortunately that "business" was a 30+ blowout loss

It was because I wanted Devries and didn't think McCollum would leave and frankly, didn't know what we would be missing out on with him in all honesty. I was reacting to the fallout and not just the incident itself. I didn't think we would get someone who was as good as Devries. I was wrong and happy to be so. I'm not typically that reactive but I feel like this was a hire that was so imperative that we had to get it right or I'd personally not be able to come back to Iowa MBB again. That's all it was. Our fan base is no better or worse than any other in this regard. We just don't go through coaching changes as often as most so we're probably a little rusty.I will never understand why so many of our fans felt like this - Acting like our A.D. was all-in on DD, struck out and had to start over.
I believe BG got exactly who she wanted from the start (and who a great deal of Iowa fans preferred over DD). Interviewing the available (i.e. no post-season coaching responsibilities) DD was due diligence, but his being the first interview in no way was an indication that he was the first choice.
I know Iowa doesn't hold a monopoly on psycho fans, but we sure seem to have a large market share.
I love the TMI comment and his reply, 'good'
Yah, 8 on 5 ain't pretty.Unfortunately that "business" was a 30+ blowout loss
I also think it’s fair to point out that Iowa is strange in the fact that we hardly go through this as fans.I will never understand why so many of our fans felt like this - Acting like our A.D. was all-in on DD, struck out and had to start over.

Blessing in disguise? Thanks for the thread Fran. I'm definitely watching this conference. I'm freaking stoked about this guy. I thought it was all downhill after Devries but with everything I've seen since and the reviews people in the know have about him, this is it. BM is the guy we've been waiting for. Our very own Beilein!
I go back to Ralph Miller LOL.Always great to have these pics to remind me how effing old I'm getting
Are we sure those student seats won't be filled? They look pretty jazzed....
Looks like it is on you tubeWelcome, Coach McCollum!
The press conference starts at 3:30 pm CT.
You can watch it LIVE via the link below. This link will also serve as the replay link.
Go Hawks!!!
the tie markets itself. It's perfect. It reminds me of George's track suit.I think in 24 hours he may have done more marketing for the program than has been done in the past 24 years. Yes, this is the time to be hyperbolic.
Good on Jan, to make it a point to be there to put yesterday behind her, and be there to welcome the newest member to the Hawkeye coaching fraternity.....
I really hope the white shirt and gold tie (and moving the students closer to the court) really takes off! Very cool. Another shout out for Drake for coming up with that concept!
Oh Crap.
Sons.
