But if/when we lose out on Pryce and Dix, that should free up significant NIL that should get us a decent player or two (if the quotes about our current fund under BMC are accurate)
Not as relevant as it used to be, since it's now a 15-man roster limit, and walk-ons will count against that limit, whether or not they are on scholarship. (I have read that Iowa is sticking with 13 scholarships for budgetary reasons.)

The guys on scholarship who haven't declared for the portal (Saydou, Isaiah, and Carter) are spoken for roster spots as well. They aren't getting their scholly yanked.
I would ASSUME that coach knows if Dix is leaving/staying at this point. Pryce is already gone to Nebbie. In other words I would be planning on the dollars from both of them opening up for next season.
I wonder if most of the high major schools will stick to 13 on scholarship, as well.

I know their names aren’t in the portal. But all the sources I’ve seen said there is a 0% chance either will be a hawk next year.

Cooper Koch is back for his sophomore year. His dad's last season at Iowa was 1998-1999 where in 30 games (24 starts) he averaged 22 minutes, 10.4 pts, 4.2 rebs, 1.1 blocks, .70 steals & .60 assists. He shot 53% overall from the floor, 39% from three and 75% from the FT line
Kent McCausland's last season at Iowa was also 1998-1999. In 30 games (28 starts) he averaged 26 minutes, 8.6 pts, 1.6 rebs, 0 blocks, .70 steals & 1.4 assists. He shot 46% overall from the floor, 42% from three and 86% from the FT line.
