I forgot that he was entering his sophomore year at Minnesota.

He was a moderately high 3 star recruit from Eden Prairie but had offers from Alabama, Clemson, Georgia and Michigan.

No offer from Iowa.

I wonder if Kirk and company are still bitter about his dad's fallout?

Wrong board or not....I got it on very good authority that Iowa went above and beyond in helping Benny land in a position that would help him grow off the field as well as on the field. It was mutually agreed upon that Benny needed a fresh start at another university.

Sapp was a problem from Day 1 and should have been kicked off the team long before he decided to start beating his girl in public. They should have helped him into jail, not onto another football team.

No doubt he needed to go.

I'm just wondering if that history kept Iowa from offering his kid.

Were those offers real? I find it highly unlikely a kid lands offers from those powerhouses and says screw it, I'm going to Minnesota.

Why is this the wrong board? Possible recruit and son of a one time Hawk. Somewhat interesting to some of us. I didn't even know he had a kid that old.

You could say the same about Padilla getting an offer from Georgia and choosing Iowa or Daviyon Nixon from Alabama.

Sometimes kids go where they feel the situation suits them the best. Sapp is from Minnesota and maybe liked the idea of staying close to home.

Wieskamp could have gone to a much better basketball program but chose to stay home.
