Best Breakfast Burrito?

Never had one from Sonic. McDonalds, Wendy's, and Hardee's burritos are all trash. Burger King and Arby's are decent.
The ones from Sonic are pretty large, but the overall taste is blah, just so bland. You bastages talking about this made me just order one from a place a buddy of mine owns.

You must not get out much. Chipotle has flourished w the pandemic. Stock is up three fold too to $1425.
Wow. Good to hear (except that I don't own their stock).

As for getting out, I pretty much haven't for the last year. Especially when it comes to getting food made by human hands.

At my age, that's a vector I should avoid. So I have.

The day I got my J&J jab, I stopped on the way home to get God's favorite pizza (a.k.a. Ledo's). First non-frozen pizza I've had since the pandemic started. And I love Ledo's pizza. So that was a genuine hardship.

Sure that was dumb, because I wasn't protected yet. But the urge was irresistable. Fortunately, I seem to have survived.

Chipotle will be next.

The thing about pizza and Chipotle is that you can nuke them to be extra safe. My other favorite will have to wait. No way I'm going to ruin a good Italian sub by nuking it.

I’ve never had a passably tasty breakfast burrito at a chain.

At local places like Tia Sophia’s in Santa Fe New Mexico

You get breakfast burritos and other great “Mexican” breakfast items like chilaquiles and huevo rancheros filled and smothered with delicious local ingredients perfectly cooked. The “Mexican” breakfasts you get in New Mexico and Arizona (and to a far lesser extent Texas, I’ve found that the worst “Mexican” breakfast in Phoenix, Albuquerque, Flagstaff, Santa Fe, Alamogordo, Tucson, Roswell and Taos beats the best “Mexican” breakfast in Austin, Houston, San Antonio or Dallas) are amongst the best breakfasts you’ll find in the world. The “Mexican” breakfasts you’ll get in New Mexico and Arizona are on par with those Cajun and Creole dishes in New Orleans or Lafayette Louisiana.

But the breakfast burritos and huevos rancheros you get in Florida or big chains are always sad, dry and flavorless.

For example

I am usually with you on food but to me the whole point of a breakfast burrito is to have something delicious and fast on the go. What you have posted is like an entire sit down meal and in an entirely different category of food. However, that is not to say I wouldn't eat the hell of it if on a vacation and I had nothing but time on my hands..

Well in that case no boring burrito you can grab with your hand will equate to the deliciousness of a good Southern biscuit breakfast sandwich or even those made with an English Muffin, real croissant, bagel or even whatever Frankenfood a McGriddle is. Heck I’d take a Jersey diner breakfast sandwich on toast over the types of burritos I’ve had at fast food chains out west.

We don't have southern biscuit breakfast sandwiches in this neck of the woods but I would like to try one...

There are some large chains (Hardee’s and Bojangles in particular) that make excellent southern biscuit breakfast sandwiches on par with the sit down restaurants. And there’s even some smaller ones that specifically specialize in it like Tudor’s Biscuit World and Biscuitville.

A. Whataburger doesn't have breakfast burritos. They have breakfast tacos (which they call taquitos for some reason).
B. Your comparison to the Whataburger "burrito" does not appear to be fast food. Apples to oranges.
C. If you haven't had life changing Mexican breakfast items in Houston, you're not going to the right places.

1) Maybe they stupidly call them taquitos (as that’s not what they are) in Texas but in Florida they were called burritos
2) Tia Sophias and Martannes are fast casual diners. Not drive through. So partially correct, partially not. It’s no different than people comparing Five Guys or Shake Shack to McDonalds.
3) Nope you’re wrong. I’ve been to all of the highly rec’d places in Houston, Dallas and Austin over the years and they are nowhere close to even a middling place in New Mexico or Arizona. Texas is about big and fast. Arizona and New Mexico is about using great local produce and handmade tortillas.

Damn dood that looks pretty amazing...

I have had the biscuits and gravy with sausage. I've also had the Nashville Hot Chicken biscuit sandwich. They are not messing around! I've had lots of both in Nashville and this stuff is legit! That said, it's only a weekend spot for me. I need a long fuggin nap after eating this stuff.

I’ve found Estella’s to be very inconsistent. Say what you will about Pancheros, but you at least know what you are getting each time. That said, neither compare to La Regia.
I had burrito at Pancheros in North Liberty shortly after they opened there some years ago. I never had another.

Wawa is more regional than national, but their breakfast burrito is pretty damn good.

meatuanywhere...bbq joint in Trophy Club, Texas. Really good breakfast burrito with their sliced brisket. One I've never had has a a solid reputation are the BB at 407 bbq joint up the road in Argyle, Tx.

Valentina’s breakfast tacos with retried beans are the tits.

Scooter's Coffee has pretty good breakfast burritos; I really like the southwest one in particular. In Des Moines, Mullet's brisket breakfast burrito or The Library. There's a place in Minneapolis called Hot Plate that has an amazing breakfast burrito (in addition to the rest of their menu).

G Migs in West Des Moines has a good one.

The Green Monster Breakfast Burrito

Chorizo, Pork Carnitas, Poblano Peppers, Hashbrowns, Cheddar Jack Cheese. Topped with Queso, Salsa Verde and Egg any style.

i do not understand the infatuation with Chipotle

In Iowa City/Coralville Estella's Fresh Mex serves breakfast burrito's all day and are the best I've had in the state. That said, the Cali burrito's in San Diego in PB are better, but in Iowa City area these are pretty damn good.
Agreed. Hadn’t had one for awhile and had wife pick some up. Way better than we remembered

we might have been a bit high too

Taco John's is probably the best for a true large chain, but I'll break the rules and tell y'all Jim's Burgers in Sioux City (especially the Leeds location) has one the best I've ever had.

I hardly ever eat BK or breakfast burritos, but before the DSM skywalk BK closed, I admit I made more than one walk of shame to my office with a bag of a couple breakfast burritos in hand. I liked them because they weren't too big, and had a little bit of everything in them, including the hash brown rounds.
Sounds a lot like a girl I dated I dated in college.

I think the best breakfast burritos I've had were from Illegal Pete's, which is a small chain around Denver. They were worth driving out of your way in the mornings to pick up.

New Mexico has a chain called Blake’s Lotaburger. For a chain restaurant they make great breakfast burritos. My go to is either the carne adovada or bacon with green chile. If I am feeling especially fat I will dine in and get the carne adovada smothered in red chile sauce.

Nice
