Best brewski you had this weekend?

Boulevard's new Smokestack beer, "The Calling" was very good. Excited to have that part of their regular lineup. I did have Sierra Nevada Hop Hunter and was not impressed.

Surly Overrated.  It was very appropriately-rated.

No it is nothing earth shattering. I think torbee had posted that maybe Surly in general was overrated. Doom Tree is good. Furious is good. Overrated is good. But I haven't had anything mind bottling. Nothing wrong with being good I suppose.

I really liked the Calling as well. I also had Central Waters Bourbon Barrel Barleywine. Also very good.

I think I had the castaway.

Kona makes some darn fine beers. My preference is Castaway > Big Wave > Fire Rock, but all three are excellent. Surly Furious and Bells Two Hearted bumped Castaway off of the top of my list, but I still have a few in the fridge.

I only had two beers this weekend. One was a Fire Rock out of my fridge and the other was a Sam Adams Rebel IPA at a restaurant with really bad selection. It was nothing special and not something I will ever order again.

Intuition Ale Works

I-10 IPA[/B]
The West Coast comes to Jax with this extremely hoppy, true India Pale Ale. Our two-row malted barley and caramel malt come to life with a ?@!#-ton of Northwest hops. We use 4 different hops during the brewing process and during dry hopping. It's music to your nose.

Went to The Hop in Beacon NY and they had 12oz bottles of Founders KBS (2013)- never seen that before. It was the best beer i have had in a long time.

also really enjoyed

Sixpoint Bengali IPA

nothing terribly interesting for me last weekend, but had a couple samuel smith imperial stouts. this has turned into my go-to stout for almost any occassion. over the top flavor and doesn't rely on a super high abv to impress.

had the Schilling Moon Berries seasonal release and it was just okay. Pretty low abv for a cider at 5.2, mostly blueberries and blackberries.

Doesn't really stack up to their imperial.

I had good coffee stout at Incindiery Brewing in Lewisville, NC. Not the best ever but good. Nice place just around the bend from Shallowford, a rock bottomed crossing of the Yadkin River, which was the site of a skirmish between Tories and Whigs.

The Bud Light was flowing at Shakespeare's yesterday as a passionate group of fans cheered on the Iowa women's basketball team. I paired the Bud Light with smoked wings in the Carolina gold sauce.

On vacation in FLA with inlaws, so choices have been limited. I guess the Sweetwater IPA I had is the best, even though it's nothing special.

As far as me, I didn’t drink too many brews this weekend I mainly drank Korean Soju, wine and whiskey this weekend. The only beers I had this weekend were Stella Artois lager, Hoegaarden witbier, Jeffe golden ale, Coors Banquet lager, Florida Avenue Brewing Passion of the Heights which is a local witbier with passionfruit, hibiscus flower, orange zest, rose hips and cinnamon, Oyster City Brewing Hooter Brown which is a brown ale with local Tupelo honey, and Aecht Schlenkar Marzen Rauchbier. The best was one of the locals or the smoked beer.

Florida apparently hadn't discovered beer yet back in 2015.
