The Palm, Morton's ... anything with a home store in NYC is certain to be good. They have both pulled back a bit, so I do not know if they are still everywhere.

I have had decent steaks at western sizzlin' but it's not everywhere. and used to be at the tx roadhouse but it's gone downhill lately
Palm is a good call. I’d also say del frisco’s.
Agreed, Del Frisco's is pretty solid.
I love ruth's chris. absolutely awesome big bucks but what the heckRuth's Chris is pretty consistent.
Morton's and Ruth Chris are both as solid as OP's Mom...
the tx roadhouse here- I used to get these awesome steaks,. then the other day I go there and they marinated it in liquid smoke. I was like, "you got new wood smokers?" and they said "no". and then I asked if they had liquid smoke and they said yes but it's for only one steak, maybe prime rib, I forget. but it was on my steak. I think they use liquid smoke on stuff now and I dislike that chemical crap bigtime
I totally nailed pf changs for liquid smoke too. these guys think it's cool. I do not.

Of the big corporate chains I’d go with Texas Roadhouse but only because their sides are solid, but I’ve found their steaks hit and miss. The more exclusive chains I’d say Ruth Chris unless you want prime rib then I’d go with Lawrys.
I rarely order steak at dinner but I had an exceptional filet at Fleming’s a few weeks back.
What about the $1 stacker at Taco Bell?

My 10 year old loves Longhorn for some reason....so I go almost every week. Their marinated Flank steak is actually really good. It is also like $15 bucks.
Mostly when traveling with my dad. He was a a picky eater and it is one of the places he will eat.
It is a cut above Texas Roadhouse and has some decent stuff on the menu.
Liquid Smoke is as natural as something called LS could be but it don’t take but a drop.
Have a heart attack/open heart surgery, and you will never look at a steak the same way again. I promise. A steak now provides 2-3 meals for me.
My parents got me a gift card to this place for some reason when they opened one up 40 minutes away from here. Not sure when my wife and I will actually find the time to go there.
I don't know if three locations qualifies as a "chain," but if you're in Tampa or Orlando and need to lighten your wallet, try Charlie's.
