What are the best dining options for those traveling to the Music City Bowl in downtown Nashville? Good BBQ I assume?

I suggest getting the app "tv food maps it has a map of every restaurant the food network has been to. I've found some real gems while traveling to new cities.
I suggest going across the river to east Nashville. Downtown food options are not that good. Mostly honky tonks. The fried bologna sandwiches are good. Martins barbecue is good. If the Hawks come here I will provide suggestions.

I get to Nashville 3-4 times a year on business, My favorite dining is "Peg Leg Porkers BBQ" which is on Gleaves St located behind the Yazoo Brewery just off of downtown.
It’s a bit of a drive, but the Taco Bell in Lincoln on O street is very fastidious about maintaining its drink towers
I’ll only go there if it’s similar to the Applebee’s by my house.
Another place to hit but its a ways out is Hattie B's Hot Chicken, 2 locations. Chicken is great and their pimento mac and cheese is first rate.
Was just in Nashville last month and went to The Southern Steak & Oyster which is just a block from Broadway. Great food, great drink options and a really cool atmosphere. Not too high price either.
You’re right about the southern. We are getting some new places downtown. The gulch was mentioned which is close to downtown. The twelve south area and Germantown are a short cab ride from downtown
Hard Rock is ok, Bar Louie is good, Capitol Grille was Awesome, Etch Grill is very good, Sambucha is a good restaurant, The Farm House is cool and decent food, If you like Soul food Arnold's Kitchen is good. The Stillery is really good and the drinks are cool in Mason jars...lol

Ok, lots of good suggestions here in other posts. However, the Grill Cheesery for lunch is very good and has been featured on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives. The other place I like is The Row Kitchen and Pub. The Row usually has live music. It is off of Music Row despite its name and is down towards Vanderbilt Campus. Another fun place is Kung Foo Saloon down near The Row. However, you really can't go wrong with any Honky Tonk Bar on Music Row. Nashville is awesome!!

Go to the Culvers in Hendersonville run by former Iowa coach Eric Johnson. Wear Iowa gear and maybe he'll throw you a free Concrete Mixer.
Liked Acme because of the history of the building and the unique service format. Had a sandwich and a local brew on tap for lunch but would not repeat with so many other options available.
Enjoyed the second floor part of Merchants for dinner. Service was exceptional and they got us out the door in time to be at Ryman Auditorium in time for the show.

We like Merchants (on Broadway). The food on the main (street) level is good but not so much on the upper level.
