Little hole in the wall places that make their food from scratch and have their own unique dishes.

If you are referring to places that have been on the show, Hodad’s in San Diego makes one hell of a burger. If you mean any diner, drive-in, or dive, The King’s Chef Diner in Colorado Springs has the best breakfast burrito with green chili anywhere.

I will have to think about this. I've eaten at over 30 of them. It's a thing with me for many reasons. I worked at a family run restaurant and I respect these kind of places. They have the most unique food because chains obviously do not want people taking chances with the menu. They want constancy. I love going to Triple D spots because you have to go into neighborhoods and find them, and you get to see a lot of America. I love the people that work at them.
Jeebus, this would be hard for me to nail down a top 10.

Not necessarily but if any of you guys have eaten at any of them featured on the show it would be interesting. I've eaten at Leonard's BBQ and Gus's Famous Chicken in Memphis...and Lambert's in Sikeston, Mo.

Casino el Camino on 6th Street in Austin makes a fantastic burger too. OiT can back me up on this.
I ate at Steuben's in Denver and wasn't impressed. They were out of 5 or 6 menu items, and we were there at 6:00 on a Wednesday. The food they did have was okay, but I will give them credit for the kitchy decor.

Lambert's is great.....BUT watch out for the flying rolls. Some of the staff will really let them rip!

The Coffee Cup, Boulder City. Huevos rancheros with a pork rancheros sauce.

Kuma's Corner in Chicago for burgers and Mac and chz. Mrs Shirley's in Baltimore was just visited in the last new episode but it's one of my favorites going back 5 years. Great Bloody Mary and brunch selection. Lots of great places in Baltimore that have been visited by DDD.

I cannot name a favorite, so I will simply pitch out some of the ones that really stood out, and that I've visited multiple times.
1. Threes Sisters, Indianapolis. Been there twice and would never drive through Indy without stopping.
2. Dell Rhea's, Willowbrook, IL. Been there maybe 6-7 times. It's right off of I-55, and since I go to Chicago a lot it's easy to stop at.
3. The Brick, Kansas City, MO.
4. Gordy's, Cloquet, MN. Literally one of the best burgers ever, but it's 15 miles from Duluth, so you gotta work to get there.
4. Duluth Grill, Duluth, MN. Wonderful food served by tall blond gals the day I was there.
5. 90 Miles Cuban Cafe, Chicago.
6. Glenn's Diner, Chicago.
7. Irazu, Chicago.
8. BB's Lawnside BBQ, Kansas City, MO. A freaking dump in an industrial area. Bathrooms literally un-usable, but a tremendous atmosphere when they are having live music and the food was excellent.
9. Highway 61 Roadhouse, St. Louis, MO.

Oddly enough I have only been to two of the Des Moines locations. George the Chili King and Mi Patria. Both were really fun experiences. George's was neat because George was there holding court, and the guy working the flat top was a walking health code violation. Super fun to see my daughter have to walk behind the counter to get to the bathroom and come out wide-eyed because it's not exactly modern and clean. Mi Patria was really good. I will definitely go back some day. I was supposed to go to Tacopocalypse yesterday but a sick kid sidetracked me. I will definitely knock off Patton's and Tacopocalypse on trips to see the I-Cubs this Summer. Taking the wife and kids to see the Book of Mormon in May, so we may hit one of them or the Flying Mango on that trip.
Oddly enough I have never been to Kuma's Korner, it's so close to Wrigley it's a natural for me, but it's just too far for me to walk from my buddies place that I stay with when I go to Cubs games. They have opened one in Schaumburg so I may go there some weekend I am forced to see the MIL.

^^^^^ LMAO. I've heard a lot said about the guy working the grill at George the Chili King but never heard it put as(s) simple or as(s) good as Lucas put it!!

Eaten at most of the places listed for DM. Love the High Life Lounge but that is mostly due to the decor and customers. (If you go the fried bacon wrapped little smokies are all they are billed to be).

Swagger in KC is pretty increddible. Best beer list I've seen and really inexpensive. And just a damn good time

I live about a mile from Irazu, only been once and thought it was excellent, BYOB to boot. I'll have to seek out the other Chicago locales.

Chop House Burger in the DFW area.

Combine ground beef with chopped grilled brisket to make their signature burger. I gave it a thumbs up in my imaginary food critic column.

I live in the KC area, and I love The Brick. Anyone who goes there has to try the meatloaf sandwich. Really good stuff!

Is George's Chili King still around? If so, man that place has some staying power. My parents and I used to drive to Des Moines once a week back when I was a kid in the 70's so my mom could go to evening classes at Drake. My dad would always take me to George's because he remembered it from when he was going to school at Drake in the 60's. The chili there has to be damn good if it's kept that little run down shack in business for over 50 years!

Buffalo's BBQ in Tulsa (Sperry OK).

Food truck smoked ribs and other items (turkey, pork, prime rib Wednesdays, etc) that are amazing...all the more so given it's damn food truck, one guy running it.

Last time I was down, I went there on a Wednesday, 11:30am. Maybe 10 vehicles in the gravel parking. Half were out of state plates on them. Most the people I worked with down there didn't even know the place was there. I found out about it by word of mouth, and in 5 trips to Tulsa, I ate there multiple times each week and everything was awesome every time.

Interesting factoid, the guy running the place buys his hogs from Central City here in Linn County IA.
