McCollum is the man. Break the bank. Great defense, great rebounding and great fundamentals.
Her job became tougher after tonight . He’s gonna be in high demand.I hope she doesn’t F this up
Beat me to it.McCollum is the man. Break the bank. Great defense, great rebounding and great fundamentals.

Have to do whatever it takes, the investment will pay itself off.McCollum is the man. Break the bank. Great defense, great rebounding and great fundamentals.
Drake was also more physical than a team that was bigger than them tonight. Impressive that they won considering the refs did everything they could to keep Mizzou in it and Drake struggled at the FT line.McCollum is the man. Break the bank. Great defense, great rebounding and great fundamentals.
Are there going to be several programs more distinguished than Iowa suddenly needing a new head coach because Drake won tonight? Her job became tougher after tonight . He’s gonna be in high demand.
Remember when Fran lost to the ****ing Richmond Spiders ? As a 5 seedDude just double-digited a 6-seeded SEC team with a squad full of Div.2 players.
GET HIM, Beth!!! Pretty please?!?
I mean she may have had a deal in place, I hope so and it could end up working out great.Anyone paying attention EXPECTED Drake to win tonight. If they make the sweet 16, then it gets interesting.
Hopefully Beth has had some conversations and has some kind of relationship.
I hope you are right , and I also hope a few of his players want to follow him to IowaAre there going to be several programs more distinguished than Iowa suddenly needing a new head coach because Drake won tonight?
I still consider Iowa a more attractive program (for BMac at least) than Minn, WVa and Va, and I don't picture Villanova going for a guy who was in Div II last year.
I guess we'll see, but like I said, I think that a deal is all but done.
Would have been a lot easier if there was more money from game receipts and concessions!Beat me to it.
I agree. Pay the man whatever he wants. I have no doubt that if he is hired, the fans will come to Carver next year and NIL contributions will increase.
Whatever the number, make it impossible for him to say no.Pay him 10 million. I’m serious. He’s worth it.
I do think it would be smart for him to come to Iowa . I think the money will come for NIL and he will be paid very well .Whatever the number, make it impossible for him to say no.
I hope she doesn’t F this up
This is her bob stoops momentI hope she doesn’t F this up
If Ben is the coach I think he is and is as confident as it appears he is, he doesn't fear becoming the coach of the Iowa Hawkeyes and whatever NIL stuff gets talked about. He knows he can coach and he knows he'll get the job done as long as he has some resources. He embraces taking Iowa to the next level.
What makes you think he would have a team full of D2 players?Yes but he cant come to Iowa and compete in this conference with D2 players. He needs NIL to consistently compete especially now with this huge conference
That’s why you need a coach that understands roster construction and play the moneyball game. You can put together teams of all mid major transfers and do just fine with the right coach. Just look at ISU.Yes but he cant come to Iowa and compete in this conference with D2 players. He needs NIL to consistently compete especially now with this huge conference
He just beat the 6th place SEC team by double digits with D-II players with zero NIL and it would have been a complete ass-whooping if they’d made their free throws.Yes but he cant come to Iowa and compete in this conference with D2 players. He needs NIL to consistently compete especially now with this huge conference
Wan open your checkbook? This is her bob stoops moment
Iowa already spends a similar level to what ISU does, the nil fund will increase and theres revenue sharing money too. So yeah he'll have some money to spend.Yes but he cant come to Iowa and compete in this conference with D2 players. He needs NIL to consistently compete especially now with this huge conference
Nice play.Would have been a lot easier if there was more money from game receipts and concessions!
To a point, perhaps. I’d sure hate to have to compete annually against opponents with better players though. What makes you think he would have a team full of D2 players?
There are plenty of D1 players out there that can be had without paying them millions of dollars,
This is inevitable. We aren't Duke circa 1992. Iowa isn't going to have a top-5 roster in the Big Ten, at least not right away, but the program doesn't have to. They can finish around mid-pack in conference next year (not impossible to do as FM proved for many years) simply by hiring a coach whose style is better suited to this conference, and who is a better in-game coach than FM was.I’d sure hate to have to compete annually against opponents with better players though.
His players seem to be more fast twitch players then what we've had and certainly more physical. Quick jumpers to be able to rebound against a bigger team.I hope you are right , and I also hope a few of his players want to follow him to Iowa

He already went out and found better transfers to go to Drake than Fran did to go to Iowa so I think he'll find who he needs to compete.
You can get far more bang for the buck bringing mid major players up to the major level than you can trying to pay millions to poach guys like Hunter Dickinson and Owen Freeman.
Availability of players is not the problem, coaching was Iowas problem.
BMac would/will take a team of players of typical Iowa caliber and make them very competitive in the Big Ten.Iowa already spends a similar level to what ISU does, the nil fund will increase and theres revenue sharing money too. So yeah he'll have some money to spend.
