Better tailgate atmosphere? Iowa or ISU?

I have no interest in ever going to a game at ISU. I just feel like their entire fan base is a bunch of turds. I will say that the overall Iowa game experience is very stale these days. There is no energy in Kinnick anymore. I try to get fired up but there are so many people that just want to sit there and do nothing. Granted, we are 10-12 in the last 3 years or something like that so maybe the atmosphere stinks because we are completely average.
You sound like a blast to tailgate with! Woooo hooo!!!

Of course it is opinion. I see positives with both places.

ISU is easier to get in and out and mostly in one place.

Iowa has a better atmosphere IMO. Feels more like college football.

ISU feels the same as going to a concert and tailgating before you go in.
That's about how I see it also. IMO, there is just a better vibe in IC, even in these post Sally Mason days.

Yes, just maybe losing in the game you are watching affects the atmosphere. Just maybe.

I can agree with your assessment, there has been way too much sitting these last couple years, but, BUT, the place wants to explode. It was there for Nebraska, that first half was fun. The fans want it, it just hasn't been rewarded. Get back to rewarding and it will be right there again.

Agreed. Its like people who credit "chemistry" when a team performs well. Everyone finds chemistry after success. Once Iowa gets on a roll at home, suddenly complaints about "the atmosphere" will go away.

So we all need to agree that everything is the same, nothing has changed, no issues on the field, nothing is missing from the experience, enforcement is the same as it was in the 80's and heaven forbid should anyone ever claim otherwise. 10-12 isn't whining, nor is it winning.

It's not what it used to be, that's for sure.
Some of that is good. Fewer drunken idiots creating havoc for others.
But, it's gone a bit too far and taken some of the fun out of it as well.
The 'clones set up is better in that there's is much more open space available close to the stadium making for a relatively short walk. Other than that, though, I wouldn't say it's in any other way superior.
