“To be honest I never really saw myself wrestling in college because it’s folkstyle and I don’t really like that. I always thought about playing football in college,” Bey said. “But I do want to go to college though, I just don’t know when. I’d like to go to Iowa State though. Iowa State is a dream school for me, it just might be a little further down the line now.” Great Article from Ryan Holmes/Flo Wrestling.

As they say, birds of a feather....

I understand the saying but not quite sure how it applies here. ISU has brought in some recruits lately with decent Greco credentials but not sure ISU/CWC has anyone who are actively pursuing Greco full time like he is.

His grades were awful and that's why he left OPRF
Stop it. Damn internet. Read it once it's a rumor. Read it twice and it's fact. Wikipedia > library for some folks.
Plenty of kids with awful grades that don't leave high school. There are kids with good grades that do leave high school. Grades are not a reason to leave high school. Mr. Bey had the opportunity and chose to go to the OTC.

All I know is that I'm a fan of Bey's wrestling. I could watch his highlights for hours. Can't wait to see future highlights wrestling for USA!

I have to agree with you PBS. The kid has the opportunity to chase a dream and develop into one of the best wrestlers in the world, then lets congratulate him. It has to be a tough choice to leave high school as a senior where you will be the king and go to the OTC where you will be just another guy.
That takes a lot of courage. I am not sure I would have had that type of maturity at this age. I will keep an eye out for him and be pulling for him. Best of luck Mr. Bey!!

That's why my guy who knows OPRF very well (just as well as you do) told me this word for word at Fargo. That he simply couldn't get his grades under control and realized that OTC was best opportunity for him to continue wrestling. Nothing wrong with that, not everyone is a college wrestler and while I don't especially like his showmanship on the mat, I wish him the best at the OTC

Even if you were told that it doesn't make it true. Easy to verify. Who are you and who told you that? Not everyone associated with OPRF knows the program or kids as well as I do and those that do tend to shy away from those kinds of conversations while hanging out at tournaments. They would be more apt to answering these types of questions:
How's that match go in the room? Just to be a fly in that room would be amazing...so many good matches. Those 2 and Townsell all wrestling at 126 this weekend, sounds like somebody will have to cut hard for the season or be the best jv wrestler in the country.
Your guy obviously thought this info was a state secret so you had to find out on the internet.

Last I'll say on the subject. Impossible to win an argument with anonymous internet guys armed with unverifiable "facts". I'm not interested in running in circles.

It was a compliment bro. I guess I have to insert the emoticons... ;)
Wasn't trying to be argumentative AZ. Got zero problems with Papa Bear. Seems like a good guy and a big wrestling fan. Grappler6 is a Gopher fan, Papa's kid is a Gopher, couldn't resist throwing a little "Gopher" remark in there. Nothing more. Nothing less. They are the "enemy" after all........................ is this where the emoticon is supposed to come in? OK. ;)
