Sitting at LAX this morning waiting for our flight home from Hawaii and Brett and his wife got off a flight from Kona.

Man has he gotten huge. His wife is half his size. He really needs to work on getting healthy. He is too young to look like that. My wife said man does he look rough.

Stress and a lack of exercise can do that.

I'm not a picture of health but I'm 60.

His wife must have blown up.....if she is half his size now...BB has really let himself go over the past decade..and it is getting worse...
No, she actually could have been a 1/3 of his size. She's a good looking woman.

He needs to get off the booster circuit or eat lighter. Not sure how old he is but he won't make it to 60 if he doesn't change.

I know what his wife looks like....That is why I said, she must have blown up if she was half his size, like you mentioned....1/3 is prolly alot closer...He is well on his way to Mangino land.... BB just turned 46...

How about laying off "thirds" at each meal and maybe jumping on a treadmill and walking for 30 mins a day?

That would be a great start.

I live in Madison and seeing those pics, it's crazy how he's changed since leaving here. Wow that's bad.

To think that less than a year ago a sizable number of Hawk fans ( none here, of course)wanted BB roaming the sideline at Kinnick again.;)

Check your math.

that is for sure, I remember arguing with somebody about that after his sideline fiasco last year. Wonder if anybody will own up to saying that would have been a good idea

I was and still am in the group that would be happy to have BB as Iowa's next coach. Him getting fatter hasn't changed my opinion of him as a coach.
I do not think anybody is against him because of his fat body, it is more so his big fat mouth in which his foot is always in. As an athlete, however; I do have an issue with a coach telling me to get in shape, watch my diet, etc when it is obvious that they do not practice what they preach. It is like when somebody has a cig in their mouth while telling others not to smoke, very hypocritical IMO. None the less, I doubt this will even be an issue when it comes time to hire a new coach

I wouldn't mind having a coach that is a little cocky. Come on even the die hard KF fans have to get bored with his predictable quotes about playing hard, needing to clean things up, and that's football.

I wish him well in his health. It's not easy to lose the weight once it begins to appear. It's a serious issue. And one that I hope he learns to manage. I feel for him ... As a person ... Because once you gain the weight it's harder to lose it. You become discouraged. You become accustomed to eating unhealthy with no excercise ... We're all human beings ... And we call go through ups and downs how we look or how we are feeling health wise ...

I do wish Brett the best .. It's obvious he is struggling with his weight and as a result ... his overall health ... In my opinion, it's easy to sit back and make fun, etc., but the struggle is real ... And I truly do feel for him ... Once the weight gain happens it becomes easier to become accustomed to that lifestyle and the problem only worsens over time ... And for any younger posters on this thread ... Careful what you say because the body changes as you get older and most people have to work hard to stay healthy and in shape ... It's life.

RD, I totally agree. I struggle with my weight everyday because I am tired after a full day at the office. Doesn't help that my wife is a great cook.

I didn't really gain weight until I hit 50. Worked longer hours and exercised less. I don't eat like I use to. I hope the razorback community helps him. He is a heck of a coach.

There is a difference between creeping weight gain as one gets older and full blown gluttony. Gradually adding 30-40 pounds after college is commonplace. Shrugging off 330 on the scale is something more than lazy. Looks like Brett threw in the towel a few years ago and its been off to the races ever since.

Plus 1

The guy is a down to earth s--- kicker and a fun guy to listen to. He's ex Iowa hawkeye and a heck of a coach. What more could you ask for in a coach? Okay thinner but otherwise.
