We need to mop the field with ISU, hold nothing back and show these recruits how Iowa Football is played.

Just added Class of 2018 twin brothers Brad Papez and Jake Papez to the list.

They camped at Iowa this past June and visited last season as well.

Another set of Paulsens perhaps? Awesome! What a list of recruits and visitors, should be an electric atmosphere with great weather!

I see Maxwell is from Largo, Fl. Wasn't Marcus Paschal from Largo? Or am I thinking of someone else?

Yep, and Marcus is back home and the head coach at his old school, Largo.

Maxwell is from a different school, Largo Pinellas Park, but they know one another and have talked about Iowa.

Jones and Thompson have very impressive offer lists. It is great to get them on campus in front of a packed house at night!

Anyone attended one of Soko's games? I've seen mixed reviews some impressed, others less impressed. a few have questioned his size but his coach has said:

"He has the ability to not take big shots," Mueller said. "People just don't get clean hits on him. He's really shifty, elusive and has really good football instincts."

http://qctimes.com/player-to-watch-...cle_2e1a077d-268c-53ca-8ebc-771009cdb8e7.html

The article also mentions that he is also a track athlete.

I just returned to the USA (and to Iowa City) after 10 of the last 12 years away. Kennedy/Muscatine was the first game I saw, and knew nothing about the players going in (though I did know that Sean Beyer had been at Kennedy and saw him at the game). I was very impressed with Soko, early and often, though I wondered at his size, and hoped that he was on the Hawkeye's radar. On a local news show that night, I heard him say, "Coach said I really needed to step up for this game, so I tried to do what he asked." (slight paraphrase- memory, you know). He was lightning quick, seemed to be able to get through very small spaces, ran through people as well as around them, and shied away from nobody Hope that helps.

BTW went to the Iowa City West game the next night, and Oliver did not disappoint. His first long return (that was called back) was memorable. As a receiver he got great separation, was never caught from behind, and showed great hands. As a defensive back he showed an easy nose for the ball and got there quickly. Not saying he's anything like him on a grand scale, but his hip swivel and instinctive moves made me think of a young Barry Sanders when I saw him in person in an Oklahoma State/ISU contest in the last century.

Speaking of ISU, go Hawks!

I think Mac stole that "chips and salsa" line from Ron Gonder he used to say " break out the chips and salsa" Gonder also said " pass in the song books"
Btw I love the Bob Hogue "Oh My"! I forgot about that one from 80s basketball.. Awesome.

Blair what do you know about Putnam. Saw he was invited to Irish Invasion and has a couple offers.

Duggan?

Alphonso "Fonzi" Soko is the real deal. I live in Muscatine, and although his size could be looked at as a concern for those who have not seen him, he is just too talented not be looked at by a Div 1 school. I hope that is the Hawks. He would not disappoint. Great speed, shifty as heck, and can show power as well!

GO HAWKS!!!!

He's the kind of kid that would tear it up at UNI like David Johnson did. It will be interesting to see the interest level from the big schools.

I think David was the kind of kid that could have tore it up Iowa too.. Seeing that he is a starting running back or at least getting a lot of reps in the NFL...

I think its very safe to say that. I'm sure he would have had a stellar career at iowa.

Why is Corrales not on an official visit? Doesn't seem to make sense as he was just offered this week, has no other major offers and is obviously flying up and it is speculated that he will likely commit to Iowa very soon.

Not 100% sure, but he told us he plans to return for an official visit later.

He is flying up Saturday morning and not leaving until Sunday night, so he'll get a full tour and meet with the coaches and everything.

My point is that the general consensus of David coming out of high school was that he wasn't a Big Ten level player. Obviously that turned out to be wrong. I could see the same thing happening to Soko. Hopefully I'm wrong and he gets the recognition in recruiting. Looks like he's currently verbaled to South Dakota.

I thought Steven Patrick informed us that Johnson wouldn't have even started at Iowa? I could be incorrect. I'm trying to text him, but he must be up in the woods as he's not responding.

Duggan?
Putnam already has offers from Illinois and Pittsburgh. Impressive freshman film (below), playing varsity in Illinois' Class 6A. Can't wait to see sophomore video.

Duggan also played varsity last year as a freshman for his dad, Jim Duggan, at Council Bluffs Lewis Central.

Here's a good article on him and his early sophomore film. He camped at Iowa this past summer.

I don't think they offer Neisen yet. Especially with Kirkpatrick maybe coming in as an oline recruit

KF needs to get that Duggan kid on board. It looks like he needs some work on his delivery but he is a winner and is a good athletic kid.

Great list. Thanks for taking the time to do it. The only error I see is Micah Jones is 2018.

OMG! Putnam's tape would be fantastic for a senior! But a Freshman? Wow. They'll call him IHOP, king of the Pancake block. He clearly likes to put people on the ground.

Because he is that good ... my guess is either ND, OK, FSU or 'bama.... Hopefully, we are there early on a scholly.
