Just my prediction, but I am sure there will be more upsets than what I picked.

The basketball Gods gave Iowa a pretty solid bracket. Now lets see if Iowa can take advantage and get back on a role. Fran needs to figure out how to get Uthoff and Jok going again now that teams have them scouted.

It is hard to beat a team 3 times in one season.

Agree but would rather try doing that against Purdue right now then MSU. And would much rather take a Illinois, Purdue, Indiana 3 game stretch to get to the final then Nebraska, Maryland, MSU 3 game stretch. That said I don't think a loss against Purdue will be as forgiving as a loss against Maryland but I like our chances against Purdue and Indiana. I also think its better for Iowa to play 4 games in this tournament then it would be to play 3. Hopefully it can get them on a role again. Back to back wins if we beat Illinois/Minn could go a long way for this team.

I could see Iowa-Mich St final. In fact that's probably the popular prediction. I think everybody's waiting for Ind to fall.

There is no way Iowa is getting to the finals of the BTT, Two of the three hottest teams in the league right now are Purdue and IU the other being MSU. You may play them back to back days.

If Iowa can get to the final game on Sunday...a big if...and if MSU continues to roll into the final, I like the Hawkeyes to keep their clean sweep and go 3-0 vs. MSU. I don't care how brilliantly MSU may be playing. Iowa has whipped them twice by a combined 30 points. MSU knows that. They would be seeking revenge...just as they were in East Lansing after Iowa beat them by 13 in Iowa City. But even with the POY and the Breslin Center on fire, the Spartans got roasted by the Hawkeyes again. Sparty was pouty and sad. It was a beautiful sight.

If you've done it twice, it simply means there's no good reason you can't do it the third time.

Heck D-8....you got Iowa to the finals, I get that so why not go ahead and pick Iowa to win it all? It's OK if you do and it's OK if your wrong or right.... just as prudent to pick the Hawks as MSU with the way the brackets are set-up. Pick the HAWKS. I am in with this.

.... it got Maryland back in the game in the final 2-3 minutes a couple weeks ago too. Pressing them gives you the best chance to win.

I think this is the correct call. I did not see any indications that Iowa can match up with Indiana in either game against them. I was not able to watch either Purdue game so I cannot comment on that match up, but if Purdue is weak in the ball handling areas then Iowa's press would give them fits. I believe MSU is the best team in the conference right now and will win the conference tournament.

Hard to see MSU not being in the finals but would not be shocked to see Wisky face them in the semis and Wisky can give them fits. That could be a great game.

Iowa held the lead in the last 10 minutes in each game against Indiana. What makes you think they can't match up against IU?

IU is certainly good, and they should be favored if we play them again, but I would not view it as much of an upset if Iowa won.

Iowa is suddenly going to learn how to close out a good opponent? I stand by what I saw in each game. I did not see Iowa winning while watching either of the Hoosier games.

Yup, I realize Indiana has beaten Iowa 2 times, but both games were not blowouts. IU in both games shot lights out from 3pt land. If they keep it up, then so be it. Iowa I think in the game in Iowa City, played right into IU's hands. They instead of making IU play defense, they took quick shots and did not attack down low enough. Have to become more physical in the tournament and force teams to either foul you or get the basket. Iowa settled for WAY too many jumpers in that game.

I think Iowa can win a couple of games, but sorry MSU scares me. They have the shooters and the players to beat the snot out of anyone in the Big Ten. I am calling MSU to win it and it will be going away.

I'm not making predictions because I have no idea which Iowa team is going to show up in Indianapolis this week. The one that started the B10 7-0/10-1, or the team that struggled and dropped 5 of their last 6 - or some point between those two extremes.

Let the chips fall where they may.

Indiana vs MSU in the finals.

Winner; MSU

As for our game vs Illinois, I predict we come out a bit sloppy, and can't overcome a poor shooting performance to pull off the W over Illinois.

Nebraska over Wisconsin? I like it but I don't know about it. Maybe all the red will make for a turn over riddled game. I would like to see Iowa win it all but I think Indiana, MSU and Wisconsin probably have a decent shot too. Especially Indiana and MSU they seem to be rolling.

We were getting close to 20 ppg from the bench when we beat MSU and Purdue early in the season. We may not need 20, but we need at least 15 from those guys. I know this may seem crazy, but I think Williams has the potential to be a late season boost. I really like his game.

The thing is, you didn't even say that you thought Iowa couldn't win against Indiana - you said that they couldn't even match up with Indiana.

Iowa was in great position to win each game against IU. I agree that this team has not shown much indication that they can win close games. We've seen Iowa play in 9 games that involved lead changes in the last 10 minutes, and Iowa has lost 8 of those games. With that said, I do not think it is crazy to believe that Iowa will win a game in which they hold a lead in the final minutes.

This team can beat anyone.

Illinois and Minnesota will both be tough outs for Iowa. Could be a one and done deal if the Hawks don't play a solid opening round game.

Iowa has no late game shot makers and hasn't all season. We lost to WI because Hayes and Koenig hit clutch shots late. We lost to Indiana both times because random guys hit 3's there and Ferrell was beyond clutch in IC. PSU I throw out as a bad game where Donovan Jack scored 19 (recently saw he scored 8 combined over 4 games) and OSU had Loving and the other guard knock down late shots. We hit the 5 minute mark and c h o k e.

I will say in all those games Iowa's FT shooting was down right terrible. That's the difference between W's & L's was Iowas FT shooting. They have to be able to step up and knock down FT's. Plain and simple make them and you can win games.

If Hawks get by their first game, they're not beating purdue. Despite pu's subpar guard play, the bigs will be dominant enough to get them the W.

Sweet. Guess I don't need to take time off work on Friday. Thought we had a chance against Purdue. You know, considering we have already best them twice.

You are right, my fault for not clarifying that I meant Iowa could not win when I put forth "matching up."

I never felt watching either game against the Hoosier that Iowa was going to win. Iowa does not match up skill wise, physically, or style of play with Indiana. It was evident to me watching both games. If Iowa faces the Hoosiers in the B1G tournament they will be defeated.

You're welcome:)
If the weather is going to be nice where you are, might I suggest enjoying some time outdoors?

Minnesota is down to 5 scholarship players and without 3 starters, I can't see them being a tough out for anyone.

Illinois will beat Minny, so we will have to beat them.

I can almost envision Gesell driving to the hole and getting rejected already....
